@frostious Not quiet, but you can think of it like that. It's more of finding how much toxic there is in the forums alone, and what players like to see done with TERA. It's showing distaste in the game alone and players play knowing their not happy with the final product. This will go to a User Rating system on another site.

You shouldn't judge the Tera community...we're a lovely bunch.
  • TERA seems unfinished when you can run out from the main starter city (Velika) for less than a minute and get to areas of the map that are obviously "very rough" that you can easily fall through.

I don't count that as "unfinished" though, just a lack of polish for a game that has a lot of polish in other areas. Its too bad cash shop items seem to be taking priority over chronic issues like these.

Who knows - maybe Velika Harbor will be part of the next expansion.

I thought it was still in alpha stage

@TheGreyWolf It wasn't suppose to be funny, it was sarcasm to get people to react, the joke being the fact all MMOs are unfinished.
I made up certain posts to make a review on how well TERAs community is, and I got most of what I needed. :chuffed:

Well I know MMOs are supposed to be "unfinished"... I have ideas on how to improve TERA, but I don't speak Korean and I doubt they'd listen to me anyway. As several people have pointed out to me already, I don't speak for everyone or even necessarily a majority of players. I think some of my ideas are good...? But maybe that's just personal bias. Everyone has their own idea of what would make this game better.

Also some people accuse those of us with opinions of being "TERA haters" or something. If I hated this game, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't waste my time with a game that I hated, that would be beyond stupid. I give suggestions for ideas that I think would make the game more fun, more popular and more profitable. It's still a fun game regardless of whether or not they take any of my silly ideas into consideration. I want this game to grow and prosper, because I feel like it has the potential to be one of the best MMOs out there if the devs play their cards right. But it also has the potential to crash and burn if they don't.

You probably shouldn't judge TERA's community based on forum posters alone, since we may or may not actually represent most of the players' opinions. There are a lot of salty people here, a lot of criticism, etc.; I think much of it is meant to be constructive criticism, but some of it is just angry people complaining because they can. Most of my suggestions and criticisms are honestly meant to try to make the game more entertaining and more profitable overall, even if some people don't see it that way. I'm not just here to QQ. When I post an opinion, it's an honest personal opinion. I don't expect the game to cater to my every whim. I do have a personal vested interest in seeing this game succeed and grow, because I've invested a bit of time and money into creating and advancing and gearing characters. I want this game to be fun and challenging and rewarding for most of the people who play it, so that they keep playing, and paying, so that the game can continue to expand and get better and attract new customers. The day I lose full faith in the future of this game is the day I stop posting here and move on to something else.

The issue is, TERA has a LOT less content after years of service than most MMOs have on release.

Not to mention a lot of game breaking bugs like the evasive skills bug being locked after being knockedup in the air. Severely poor performance issues after years of service. A complete disregard for community interests. The list goes on.

I think you missed the point entirely. I've been gaming for 30+ years and I've never ever seen a perfect game. I used to play Guild Wars (both 1 and 2)... I don't play them anymore. Not because they were necessarily bad games, but because they lost my interest. Hence you won't see me giving opinions and expressing grievances on their forum, because I don't play the games anymore. I also have no interest in trying most of the other MMOs out there, which is why you won't see my "toxicity" on their forums either. You talk like we're a bunch of battered spouses with Stockholm Syndrome when that is not the case. Like I said in my previous post, if I hated the game, I wouldn't be playing it. No, it's not perfect, far from it. But it's a solid game, and it has the potential to be great if they take it in the right direction.

Whatever "other site" you're posting on, I just have to say, if you're giving a rating based on forum comments alone without ever playing the game yourself, then quite frankly your "rating" system sucks and I would never trust your opinion on anything.

I request this thread to be closed, I got all the information I needed.

You can't make a bait post and expect people to not react and then when they do, you call them toxic..... It makes no sense.. Go to a post where someone asks for help from the community and make your judgement based on that. This, in my opinion, was the dumbest way to judge a community.

I don't know the best way to judge a community, but isn't a thread that invites positive responses simply the other end of the spectrum in comparison to threads baited for negative responses?

A lame joke or sarcasm isn't the best way. Specially in a manipulative way to post results on an unknown website.

This whole thing reminds me of someone doing the same thing last year.
    https://tera-forums.enmasse.com/forums/general-discussion/topics/So-is-the-game-still-a-unoptimized-hot-mess?page=4#post-1308466

And now OP has removed/edited all his posts in this thread, very suspicious!

    Goes both ways though.

When you judge a community, you want to see whether they are toxic or not correct? Then why purposely bait them into something negative rather than have a regular discussion about anything? If you don't know what to talk about, there are many other forum posts that can be read as well.
I remember the op saying "they can't take a joke", but where was the joke? Who did he want to make laugh?

If you're going to judge something RIGHTFULLY, in my opinion, I feel as though you should just observe and not provoke... Like I said.. dumb way to go about it.
