  • You've took what I typed and assumed a number of things. All I was saying was that creating or simply looking for threads where you are most likely to observe the reactions or responses each one is attempting to elicit is no different for positive or negative threads. Don't get me wrong though, I think the OP was simply backing out of a thread or incredibly shortsighted and his excuse or reasoning was pretty stupid.

  • If he wanted a "fair and balanced" assessment of the game, he should have started two threads: one, asking what people like about the game. Two, asking what people don't like about the game. Even then, the results would be skewered, because people by nature are more likely to be vocal about things that bother them than they are to express gratitude when things are going well. That's just human nature. The people who are happy with the game are not very likely to start threads thanking the game producers. I could sit here and say, "hey, thanks TERA for creating a fun, free game with action combat and nice graphics and lots of different classes to choose from, this is really cool!" But honestly, who does that? When I post on the forum, it's either to ask a question, to try to get to know other players, or to post "constructive criticism".

I guess I don't say this enough, but I like TERA. I like the basic concept of it. I appreciate all the hard work that the EME (and even BHS, though I don't always like their decisions) put into the game. It's a fun, unique game. I know it's not the most popular MMO out there (most of the people I talk to IRL have never even heard of it), but it really is quite impressive considering that it wasn't developed by some big name gaming company.

Sure, sure, you have lag, poor optimization, unbalanced classes, race and gender locks, recycled content, etc. Lots of stuff that lots of people complain about, and for good reason. Like I said before, the game is NOT perfect. But it's still pretty damn good considering that it's F2P and doesn't have the massive resources that a game company like say Blizzard has behind it.
