So when is this patch expected here?

    6 months.

So basically mystics are still infinitely better thanks to 100% uptime on buffs (estars can and will still be interrupted with staggers, boss dodges, some shield phases etc.), mystic DPS which is like two thirds of a proper DPS, overall utility (things like thralls for taking mechanics) and vow which lets 3 or more people res for free with a 1 sec cast time while grace has 5 sec cast time for one person (and when they get ressed they won't need to be buffed like in a priest party, you have 100% buff uptime). If you think it's balanced you will just have to look at results. Priests put in more work for less results. Non-ktera priests won't even get that crit res debuff that's part of talents. Thanks to vow, cring and massive healing buffs for mystic, they're even better for learning runs now so the excuse that priests were better for carrying people is useless (and having classes specifically designed to be good or bad is terrible design anyway in an MMO).

Priest's one saving grace was that double healer parties weren't too inefficient. With the change to that only the good healer class will be relevant. Not even useful as buffbots anymore. Might as well delete them and rename mystic to "healer". With DPS and tank they at least pretend to balance them, and are actually doing it beyond the flavor of the month newest broken classes. With healers they've decided that one is easy and gets worse results while another is hard and gets better results, nevermind that the game is actually easier now for the one that is supposed to be hard and it still gets far better results. Ninjas are getting nerfed, the other DPS buffed. Brawler has already been hit by the nerf stick hard. Healers? One is specifically designed to give worse results even if you're a better player than someone playing the other healer class.

So uh, feel free to correct me if I'm understanding this wrong but...this means no more buffs from friendly priests if they aren't in your party?

That's really going to suck - my best friend plays a priest and really likes buffing people, and whenever we go our separate ways after playing together they bestow upon me some buffs to make whatever I'm off to do easier. It's a nice little gesture that makes both of us feel good, a little sign of friendliness and caring.

I understand BHS is doing it to combat buffbots (ETA: and to apparently combat the mystic/priest imbalance), but it just seems like another one of those decisions that hurts all the other players way more. It's saddening.

How to slowly drive some people into quitting the game and try another one lol

But let's see what that brings.

So they nerf Hyderads (and Dread, wtf) and give us some lousy healing modifier to make up for it? Waiting to hear the changes on that, but healing modifier has never been even close to as strong as healing %. Did they not learn that when no one used healer rings past Hyderad or Frostwise? I mean, are they serious with this? Do they even play their own game?

And on top of that, they're penalizing priests by disallowing double healer comps. Who's going to want a priest now when crit aura is so strong vs 25 power? This fixes nothing.

Oh, but at least warriors won't i-frame Energy Stars anymore. For the priests that won't be playing. Hue.

Perhaps we also need to see how the other class revampings will go and how are the devs going to balance content around them. I wonder if this also has the goal of reducing the amount of players that tend to facetank everyithing trusting their healers will babysit-them through the dungeon/BG, if healers are going to see part of their healing power reduced then DPS and tanks would be expected to start avoiding damage instead of simply thinking "healer gunna keep me alive, that's his job lol"... of course, that would be very innocent from the devs to think, maybe the idea is to force all classes to finally flush the reamaining old gear sets.

I guess the problem here is that we aren't seeing any kind of roadmap or developement overview so we can get the logic behind these changes, we're only seeing a lot of modifications in many aspects of the game without any indicator of the ultimate goal behind them as a whole.

Do you believe people will prefer shakans to mystic auras? Or is it more the duo healing changes that you're annoyed by?

    both of these two basically
i think people would rather have the aoe heals and more safety net playstyle that priest provides, shakan and estars rather than mystics crit aura and a free res from vow. That's honestly how i see it

Duo healing is something that my friends and i run in every party because 2 of us dont want to do anything else. We dont enjoy dpsing, we dont enjoy tanking so we run priest/mystic. it worked out well for us so the endurance debuff changes basically blasts our entire party into forcing one to pick up a dps, drop party and force them to replace us with a dps, or subject our party to slow runs (which is awful and we really wouldnt do to our friends.) idk im saddened at the fact that my healing bro and i can basically no longer be the healing support team in 5man dungeons which was probably some of the most fun i've ever had on this game.

Heh, am I the only one who read that and is thinking how much it sucks that they are already introducing new gear?!

If I have to get a whole new set of gear so soon, I'm going to be pissed.

Well that's the drawback of closing the gap with KTERA. That's one of the reason I skipped VM7 (the other one being the small difference with VM6 for DPSes)
  • god! the only good thing that i read here is about mana charge...
i was expecting a BUFF on healers jewelry.. not a [filtered] NERF.... wtd theya re thinking? are they high? are they drunk?
those 2 last sets os jewelry were a JOKE for healers.... the healing one doesnt even give u healing power.... same stats as a tank....
and they released one extra set for dps.... they dont want s to double heal, but they want to nerf jewelry... this rly [filtered] me off...
tbh i think they dont even play the damn game...

So basically they turned priests into mystics before people actually wanted mystics? l0l
I still remember the days where people would poop on mystics and would always prefer priests.
Happy days, take that priests. :^)

  • Ya since we cut off several months to catch up to ktera, means vm7 didn't last long for us :/ which I'm ok with it, it was a let down for me.

    Blessing of Shakan
Only applies to party (raid) members
    Blessing of Balder
Only applies to party (raid) members
Blessing of Shakan/Balder, Arise, Kaia’s Shield
When leaving or joining party, the effects will disappear unless the caster exists
The caster must remain in party to keep the effects. They will disappear if the caster is not present.

I'd love to hear rationale for that. Or maybe better not.

Or actually I can imagine why. Let's [filtered] up buffing, so people more happily accept priest to parties.

Hey BHS, why don't you [filtered] balance things properly ?
