They don't think in term of "balancing" between classes (which can be done easily just by changing a few number to buff/nerf skills), but in term of adjusting player base (attracting new players with dumb down content and old players by rotating favorite class of the month - which would affect their revenue more directly). It's all textbook example of how to run a business in gaming industry, so don't get your hope up waiting for a real balanced state (and don't waste your time complaining, just enjoy the game while you can and move on when you cannot).
This ppl are nuts, they keep making us spend time and money on gear and every 5-6 months we discard it just like that. What is the point now to invest in Imperator or Starfall cuz i bet Starfall will be like Lucid now....useless.
And i dont like what they do to healers, is hard enough already to heal ppl and they keep nerfing everyting from tanks to dps to healer and dungeons still remain same hard. They killing this game really, we are bored and out of money to keep changing the gear like underwear.
Those are a few questions that im still asking-specially the stagger on the new skill that will replace Magma Bomb-..they already nerfed Sorc before making Nerve and the stun trap duration much worse, killing many combos that Sorc had.
Feels like they are trying to make Sorc a PvE only class.
the new skill (Spell Enhancement) also increase attack speed. so its not a big loss. also we dont know the base damage of new skills. since they didnt update inven site with the new information.
YES. One of the best things about playing a healer is bestowing random buffs everywhere. Feels like being Father Christmas.
I highly doubt Starfall will be useless since Imp isn't that much better than SF, unless you're a tank. Also starfall is incredibly easy to make now, we had it for ages, if you don't have it by now, I'm not sure what you've been doing (if you're aiming for VM gear). With the countless events and adjustments EME has done for us, there's no reason for people not to have at least a starfall weapon.
Personally I don't care for Imp gear, it seems too much of a hassle for a minimal upgrade. Hopefully the newer gear will be worth the grind, VM7 was such a disappointment.
BHS coming again with the stupidity.
And no more buff bots, sigh
The caster must remain in party, meaning, as long as that person is your party/raid member, you will still have the buff. Their presence should not matter.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
Plenty of people, I'd imagine, since triple nemesis overwrites volley and is a better endurance debuff by 1%, they won't get buffs without a priest physically being in their party, and energy stars overwrites titanic wrath plus gives two more attack speed as a standalone skill, making it objectively superior. Crit auras, and I suppose vow of resurrection, are where mystic holds the advantage, to be sure, but that's two advantage (one of which only comes into play if you die, and with priests having many healing tools at their disposal, this shouldn't happen often) over multiple disadvantages.
Honestly, I feel like the thing giving mystics the advantage this whole time was that you could compound their auras with a priest's buffs without actually having the priest in the group. Now that you can't do that anymore, suddenly the debate's been re-opened about a mystic's overall utility. That we now have to look at mystics as a standalone class, and not as a healer with great auras that can stack those auras with a priest's buffs, effectively places them on the same level that priests have been on within the context of this debate. Now neither class can be judged with another class's buffs in the background. So with that in mind, let's look at mystic without shakans and balders to back it up. The big draw is their crit aura. And yeah, the extra crit factor is great, but to what extent? Diminishing returns are a real thing; anyone who's popped a quickcarve with a mystic in their group only to still hit non criticals despite having like +350 CF can attest to that. Furthermore, many new classes have crit glyphs already, or don't even need to stack it like gunner, or they have natural crit buffs like archers, and on and on. In the same way that easier dungeons and easier classes made a priest's bigger heals less necessary, buffing people's skills with crit glyphs and making more crit jewelry with each patch could make critting less of an issue, thereby rendering mystics' trump card less appealing. Of course that's just a guess, but it appears to be the trend. [filtered] sucks, but those are the breaks when your one big appeal to groups hinges on a single stat boost.
Idk, I hope I'm wrong. Balance is what we should strive for. Instead each patch just has one class being objectively preferred over the other. I'm not gonna laugh or sip tears from a cup, I just think it's bad all around since there are other directions they could've gone with instead. Saddest part, if this turns out true, is that mystics didn't even get a year to enjoy being objectively superior.
