Lancer needs moar crit chance glyphs.
I recently made another Lancer(yes, I have two now) to level up and get a fresh feel of playing the class. I have to admit, Lancer is fun and challenging.
I was told I did 500+k/s on second boss in DFNM, which I thought was pretty neat considering I was in full +12 Dreadnaught.
I rolled full crit(2 corvette/3 Shadow) and full damage rolls on weapon(double enrage, 6%,8.3%). I currently have around 185 bonus crit rate. I have no issues with aggro against +15 users, which is good, but I feel that something is lacking to make Lancer even more amazing.
I feel that what is missing is: Double/Triple Crit chance against monsters only glyph for Spring Attack and Wallop.
I am fully aware of IoD BAMs are a horrible way to test because of their ungodly high crit resist, but even with Keen buff and 10x HtL stack buff at 400+ crit bonus, Spring attack and Wallop didn't crit as much.
My crits are much better in dungeons of course, but it would just be amazing to see all ticks of Spring Attack crit at least 90% of the time, as well as for Wallop. I use glyphed Onslaught, but it would be nice to use those extra glyph points for a wishful thinking double crit chance glyph on Spring Attack and Wallop.
This is just my opinion, and I would like to get constructive criticism, ideas, suggestions, thoughts, etc from veteran Lancers and others.

But as you said, the biggest hitting attacks of Lancer should have carving glyphs, specially Wallop.
Lancers doing 1mil+/sec sounds great, but how much would a prebuffed double crit chance zerker glyph(1.5x-1.7x?) boost the current estimated damage per second?
Would be difficult to say how much of an increase it would make due to dps having too many factors beyond just the skill of the individual, as the composition and skill of the party members also impact it. Anyways, BHS already said they don't intend on Lancer being focused on their own damage because then they would be like Brawler with utility and then it would be a matter of which of the two does more damage when it comes to picking one of the two. It also makes the two classes less interesting since at that point they would be two tanks who just do damage... At least with Lancer being utility focused and Brawler damage focused there would be two completely different styles of tanking to appeal to different people.
My lancer has so many party skills at her disposal. Best endurance debuff in the game. A power and speed boost. A force enrage. And with all that, it's still easy to hold aggro. Becoming even stronger would make brawlers seem redundant, and like someone else already said there have been lancers since the start of this patch several months ago doing great DPS. And that was without anything crazy like imp +15 or whatever. Hell, my shield counter already hits crazy hard and crits almost every time with just +180 CF.
Feels superfluous imo. If you want to crit more, just splurge on crit stuff and you can have more crit.

Well, I'm pretty sure a non true double crit chance glyph(1.5x-1.7x) won't necessarily throw Lancers into Brawler DPS levels. Spring attack and Wallop don't crit as much, so maybe having at least all ticks crit on spring attack a bit more often, and a bit more chance for Wallop to crit, would be nice. Also, even if we say it did get introduced, I'm pretty sure BHS would lower the damage buff against monsters that Lancer got.

Shield counter crit chance is pretty much 100%, or at least close to it. I don't think that said double crit chance glyphs would make Lancers stronger than Brawlers in terms of DPS, but I suppose it would be redundant, given how crazy a good +15 Lancers could achieve. Either way, it was just though, and yus, mor crit stacks for meh. :chuffed:
I don't see what you need more crit on... lancer does quite well already. Don't compare yourself to DPS classes who receive a bonus to crit chance because they're attacking from the back. You're asking for 90%+ crit chance on Spring Attack which is pretty much your most important skill. Do you know how ridiculous 90% is? That'd take more than a double crit chance glyph to obtain. DPS classes who receive these types of glyphs don't even get those numbers except for I think only Warrior's Scythe. I don't think you truly understand how insane that'd be.
Schisma doesn't really make a point, though. As 90% crit chance on spring attack, I may have stated and exceeded what I had in mind, but even is we had a 1.5x-1.7x crit chance, all that would have to be adjusted is the damage on monsters buff that lancer's got, if it truly made Lancers too ridiculous, which I doubt it would.. Also, take crit resist from monsters into consideration, as well as the lack of crit from the front.
Either way, it was just a thought, and I received great CC from others. Thank you for pitching in, though. :chuffed:
Of course this is taking into consideration the crit resist from monsters that's why I mentioned other classes crit glyphs. And my lancer and brawler are in Schisma with like +140 crit and can do the job just fine which just goes to show how forgiving tanking already is now. You could always opt for more crit: etchings, jewelry, carving crystal, innerwear, your weapon if you really wanted to. The only of which I use is old time/dread crit jewelry so I could definitely gain more crit. Most likely you still have more room for crit so you should go max that out and then see what your crit is like. The fact that you mentioned at least 90% crit chance as an honest suggestion is concerning and I don't think you know what you're talking about.
With full HTL stack (40 power & 60 crit), it sure is a huge buff to our dps on lancer. I run a +170 crit rate unbuffed (I go with a balance between crit and power instead of the traditional full crit) and with mystic it's +225. Overall I'm pretty happy with how lancer is at the moment for the most part. During enrage status on bosses, I been able to reach high numbers on these skills: spring attacks can reach anywhere from 900k-1.4m, shield counter 900k-1.2m, lockdown blow 2.5m-2.9m and wallops 3.8m-4.9m, depending on team debuffs and myself (GS+QF brooch+Adr Rush+HTL). The numbers I been getting are amazing at times but wallop seems like it doesn't crit enough imo sometimes even with a +285 crit rate fully buffed and adding in the fact that bosses have a high crit resist from the front.
Having a crit glyph on wallop would be awesome but sadly I don't ever see that coming. It would make lancer too strong.
As I said before, I exceeded what I had in mind, and forgot to correct myself. Not to sound rude, but if you're basing everything of what you say from your schisma lancer alt, then that too is quite concerning. As for the whole "tanking being too easy", sure anyone can tank now, but as always, there is a difference in utilizing the class to their max potential.
