  • Ran around multiple areas, both snowy and not and didnt find anything. Wasted a couple of hours. Can anyone share at least one or two areas they spotted the monsters at? This is frustrating asf.

EME does not know how to run events. there is always something wrong and this is constructive criticism.
come on guys, think a bit ahead and try to see things from our point of view.

im done commenting on this event im sad.
  • I keep checking back, hoping they'll do something to fix it, especially when they asked us for our thoughts in relation to it. It seems that they've abandoned the topic and don't plan to address the issues or concerns we've relayed.

I like the event, but I wish they made it so that it wasn't so hard to spot a mongo. It looks just like a normal mob and the gray name doesn't help distinguish. Also they are supposed to be "common" not rare yet. Like mentioned above it's not worth it to run around for hours and find 1-3 mongos.

I found some in Val Elenium and a few in Val Tirkai, but they really are frustratingly rare. Searching for the mobs should be fun but it's not, it just feels like time wasted.

why dont these event mobs have a different color title? then ud KNOW if u found one ; )

Sorry there's no way to make them appear differently. It isn't one of the things we can tweak.

Well sure but... you actually managed to give no insight into why they're bad or how they could be improved. This isn't what I'd call constructive criticism at all. :p

    @Spacecats
Maybe not change the color of their name, but could it be made all caps?
Like this "TERRON" so it was easier to spot...
    And on our eyes

Sorry to hear some of you looked around really hard and didn't find any Mongos. I was hanging out in a few servers after the event launched and saw a lot of global chatter linking to the loot people were getting, and stuff like "I found 3 in the last 15 minutes!" Those must have been the especially lucky people, or maybe it's just a matter of more people logging in and started hunting. The poor Mongo population is facing extinction due to overhunting. I'll look into the numbers and see if something can't be done to adjust the event at this stage.

On the plus side, and I tried to make sure the news post was pretty clear about this but maybe it should be refined, as the event continues the Mongo population will go up on all servers naturally. When uncommon and rare Mongos become unlocked on the Mongo Master diagram, they'll appear in addition to those already unlocked.

Thanks, SC. If the numbers can be adjusted a bit, this could be really fun.

Just as I stated in my previous post, most people will not participate from the start and only wait until the very end when there're more things to look for, which also invalidates the "kill enough low tier mongos to unlock better one" unless EME interferes. Why would you give ALL tiers chance of getting the best rewards and nerf ALL spawn rate, instead of giving rewards with value inversed compare to their spawn rate ?
  • FleettFleett ✭✭✭✭
With the incredibly low spawn rates and people already giving up I doubt we'll even get to the uncommon mongos lol

Nope, sorry. Nothing about their physical appearance can be changed, including their names. I would if I could!

Okay... starting now, players may find it slightly easier to find themselves a Mongo. Still no guarantees, of course.

Also, keep your bananas peeled this afternoon for an exciting update. <3

It would be great if you can also adjust the rewards so that at the end of the event their increased population won't negatively affect the market (ex, flooding it with noble mounts, given all tiers have chance to drop them), eventhought I'm not sure if it's possible without a server maintenance.

Also from the way the event works I'm assuming EME can adjust the spawning rate without having to wait for maintenance, so if the technical team can really take their time and adjust the reward scaling from lower tiers to high tiers, you can reuse this event a lot more again in the future. I love the premise of this event where you can feel that what you're doing really contributed toward a bigger goal, and you might encounter a rare find while doing that. It's such a waste to use this as an one time event (think, BAMs BAMs BAMs event). To balance out the rewards, any PC member with understanding about the market could help, and it's good enough to balance them based on current market value (ex, 1st tier reward can be something worths ~100g like 3 mwa or 2 spellbinds, 2nd tier ~200g, 3rd tier ~400g...)
