We all kinda know what is gonna happen in 2016, but lets put a list of what you want to happen.

Lots of people gonna deny this but Tera currently is not in a good shape, almost everything is the same as the release of Tera in 2007, character customization, visual optimization, FPS and performance problems and some even went down badly like leveling, gear progress and some other stuff. I don't see much fixes for the problems, we are going to have new dungeons and new gears like always, we are going to have OP new class and new female armor gonna shrink even more and makes you feel like you are playing a porn game not an action MMO. BHS/Nexon are not fixing much, they might be trying but it is not promising.

Now put on the lists of the changes you want to see and give us your thoughts and suggestions.

Mine for now, I will get to this more, cause I don't want a QQ thread, I want constructive one to help a game I invested too much and love it too much to improve.

1. Character creation and customization: So obsolete, it really needs improving immediately. Male High Elf for example suck :chuffed:

2. Visual optimizations, FPS and performance problems: Example UE3 has a problem with new VGA and anti-aliasing system, it blurs things or it make the animation slower, also we all know about unstable FPS which is really weird.

3. Gear progression, leveling progression: each 6 months making older gears obsolete or not so good is not a good way, leveling process is very very very bad, no one learns anything, guides and tips are not helping and things are too easy before late game.

4. RNG needs to be controlled: I said this before, we need to control RNG, for example for loot-boxes, we put a limit on each server for loot-boxes, it mean lets say if you opened 10 loot-boxes and didn't get a thing. you are going to get that item in the next attempt. and getting that item resets the RNG control, and if you got lucky and got it before 10 attempts, then lucky you, also again even in this case that resets the RNG control for that server. It can goes to enchanting and masterworking, we can set specific limits for different sets, different armor locations, weapons for enchanting, awakening and masterworking.

5. Costumes, weapon skins, Armor looks: There is too much fantasy, specially when it comes to females, looking at most in game costumes or store costumes, Cop costumes for example, comparing the female ones with male ones, Ninja costumes also, I don't say remove those I say keep the balance. But in all the seriousness, BHS or anyone creating the costumes are thinking Tera as a porn game or something. We actually need this to be fixed and this alone can bring many players back and make lots of money. Another example, I can refer to Greatsword, lots of might like the weapon skins for them but a lot more actually look for more realistic ones too, the balance here would be nice, for example I prefer not using any weapon skins, not EMP store nor fashion coupon store.

I have some more to add, I will get to it later and give some suggestions.

please give us what you think and give us suggestion and let us give a headline and a good direction for a better Tera. Thanks

PS: Sorry for poor English.

Pfft, more p2w stuffs, this time in the store.
  • TLDR. Don't like the game, there is an easy solution: uninstall.

    1. Definitely the Character customization needs an update. New games all have body sliders as a norm. TERA only limits to the face. This is something BHS can do, since they are the ones with all the tools to remake the character customization, but i do not think we will see it anytime soon.
    2. Visuals are fine to me. The problem is the engine. Unreal Engine 3 is kinda outsated now that there is Unreal 4, and is one of the reasons why the game is so badly optimized. To change the Graphics Engine is a very tall order, as everything in the game has to pretty much be ported to the new engine, and some stuff might not even be compatible, but that's something only BHS knows.
    3. Well that is the Western type of MMO for you. The gear grind is never ending, there will always be newer sets of armors and weapons coming in the future. There is already a brand new Visionmaker set (VM8). Gear progression can be tweaked? yes, but the How is the real question.
    4. The only way to control RNG is to add a fail cap. Currently the RNG in TERA does not have one, and it just goes on to infinite relying on pure luck. A fail cap would fix the RNG for pretty much everything. For like 50 loot boxes you open, and do not get jackpot, the 51 box will give you one, or if you fail like 40 times to +15 your weapon, the 41 will be the definite.
    5. I don't suppose you know what a Fantasy MMORPG is right? The costumes serve that purpose. If you want something more lore friendly that goes along the world of TERA, farm a lot of fashion coupons. Nowadays, the concept of female armor being Showy is pretty much adapted in most of the upcoming mmos.

What i would like to get fixed, but probably it isn't gonna happen, is the armor bugs. A lot of the armors in the Fashion coupons are super nice, but unfortunately, when you zoom in for that sweet screenshot, you start noticing small holes where there is missing textures of either skin or the armor itself. This does not happen with costumes. Unlike Costumes, that appear to go on top of the base body, the armors from the fashion coupons seem to "Replace" the base body. Now this is something a user like me can probably fix on its own, but unfortunately is not allowed to mess with the files of TERA.

I think i speak for everyone when i say that the #1 thing that needs to be adressed ASAP, is the TERA optimization. It is been 4 years, and the game still runs like crap on high end rigs. Even the most overclocked CPU with the best cooling system and beast graphics cards, cannot run TERA on steady 60 fps, and is concerning, considering other games of the same quality of TERA can run at higher frame rates using the same high end rig. BHS said they would look into it if i remember well, but i think that was about a year ago. EME said they would communicate with BHS about it, but we have yet to hear and answer about optimization.

The guy said that TERA as a game released on 2007, which is most certainly wrong. Don´t rush your reading. Dunno why the BHS info is there if I wasn´t even mentioning them, a game and its developers are completely different.

    1. Optimization.

Yea, no way Tera could have been released in 2007 since Bluehole Studio was founded in 2007 ¬.¬

There is no way since when you found a company, you start building from there, if you don´t have the base, you can´t build. And if you are talking about a MMO which is a huge game with a lot of things put into it, you are going to take years before you finish the first project, don´t believe me? Ask microsoft.

EDIT - this is a low quality post. Please contribute something useful.

Edit to the edit: I know, that's what I said. I'm glad you guys agree with me.
Here's something useful. Maybe less elin-locked classes?
  • as long as we got this community, specially in forums, we won't get far.
  • What I'd like to see:
    1. Optimization (Ex: I'm still crashing when first loading a character into TERA, forcing me to end the process and restart to begin playing)
    2. Removal/Revamp of Defend-based missions (Ex: Solo Instances that have you sit for 5 minutes with some NPC's to defend said NPC's or some nearby luggage. Drastically reduce time (down to maybe two minutes) and increase mob spawn rates, or remove the thing completely. It's a waste of time and has never been entertaining.
    3. Some sort of Expert Mode server. In short, this server would wind up looking like TERA did before things like Avatar weapons were dropped in.
