Old player coming back to Tera.

Hello everyone,

I was thinking of coming back to this game after about 2 years of quitting. I quit shortly before level 65 patch hit and I tried coming back before, but I felt too overwhelmed with all the content that was out and how ridiculous the grind for gearing up was. I main Slayer and I hear that they're not doing too badly in terms of PvE, which is nice. PvP was the thing I most enjoyed at endgame but I'm not sure how the population of servers are after how long it's been. I was from Lake of Tears and the population was already on the side low before I left. All-in-all I'm curious about how long it would to take to "catch up" so to speak, being that there's a lot of gear that's tiers ahead of what I'm wearing now. I was never too keen on the success rates of enchanting/MW'ing and I'm curious as to how much I'd have to invest just to catch up to everyone else that's been active since day 1.

  • It'll take about 1 week to gear a character all the way up to do-able end game without elite not counting how long it takes to get to lvl 65. 60-65 is about 5 hours without elite.

I'd wait a little while until after the class rebalances they're doing in Ktera, since currently, the new classes really outdo the legacy ones.
  • if u roll a ninja or reaper u won't be behind too much. Those 2 classes are designed to please newcomers anyways
  • Thanks for the comments. Another question I have is how is the population of the game these days as opposed to 2 years ago?

That isn't what he's asking, since it seems to be about gear/resources. In which case, you won't ever catch up to people who have played for so long, but you'll be fine gear wise.

Population will also depend on server, and what you intend on doing as even some servers with a "healthy" population have little going on for end game content.
