Thinking about returning...

Good day everyone! I started playing Tera late 2014 till early 2016 on and off. My main server was Tempest Reach and my main characters were "Bluti" and "Iwatobi".(I doubt anyone remembers me lol). I first came to Tera because it promised me real action combat and I can say that it definitely lived up to it's name. My reason from, I guess taking a hiatus from Tera was because of personal reasons. Still to this day I have not found a game that is quite like Tera. I had a lot of fun when I played Tera and the community in TR is great. I know that Tera has some glaring issues so I want to reach out to the Tera community and ask, is Tera still worth playing? Do you think BHS and EM will improve the game beyond it's current state? Improvements like an optimization upgrade or class revamps. I really liked this game and I hope I can like it again. The combat is very immersible and the artwork/graphics are beautiful.

Devs are working on a bunch of upgrades at the moment. They are simplifying several systems and revamping old classes. Now, to tell you if the game is worth playing, the opinions will vary. Those who don't like the changes will tell you the game is dying and is not worth. Others will tell you to stick there. And this is why this kind of question is usually hard to honestly answer. Now, if you liked the visuals and the combat style, those are still there.

If you like the challenge which action combat in extreme mode (ie schm original difficulty) initially offers, you wont get that much of it anymore. Everything is made simpler somewhat and people will tell you that things like server first clear dont mean much anymore.

If you just like the visuals and casual play then you can probably stick around, because everything is made to make life easier for people. (Except for grinding maybe which will still take a stupid amount of runs to farm)

The new dungeons which got implemented is fun and worth coming back to (Manglemire, Shadow Sanguinary), even the new battleground is kinda fun. But don't fall into the gear grind circle :)

You can follow new updates and news from ktera (BHS) here

The sorcerer class just got revamped and soon slayer and berserker will follow, and warrior tanking around the end of the year in Korea, which means 4 month later here.
We will get some optimization as well, like toogling off and on buffs, and the new flashy sorcerer skills do not decrease fps as we feared. Currently only the elite bar can be toogled off the screen.
  • Thank you for the wonderful replies! Ah, I'm sooo going to have to hop back on my sorcerer! Great to hear.
  • prepare to be underwhelmed
  • I don't think they're going to be that underwhelmed considering how much they seem to like Tera. I love Tera a lot too and despite it's cons, to me personally pros outshine them. The game isn't dying and it's not going to go anywhere, especially with how many updates are coming. Sure, BHS makes really bad decisions but as long as you're enjoying the game, you'll have a good time.
  • The game is like most other MMO's , fun for a few hours then gets very repetitive..
