I'm more or less in the same boat as you. For this patch I might only upgrade a single character to mid tier and try to forget I even have alts. That or take a needed pause from Tera and return after a patch or two. I'm not desperate for playing new content and I already accepted I'll never stop being a foreveralone so I won't be able to do any real end game, ever.
Well, Tera's thing is gear grind. Every patch comes with an upgrade. Damage and defence are easily balanced though boss stats but healing is more difficult. There has been a significant heal creep over the last few patches(it's practically doubled since lvl 65 cap). Currently, a mystic can 0-100 a player in less than 2 TFs with a medium heal spec. Lowering the potential heal is easier and less intrusive than altering other stats.
Both vm7 and vm8 doesn't have this line ..
Haven't tried BDO but I suppose I'm country locked from there. I'll be sticking to Tera for awhile even if on and off, which I feel is actually healthy to be on and off gaming and not fully addicted.
I can also assume that once you do certain things as a dev in your game, it becomes harder to make actually new and refreshing content, yet you want to keep adding things to not let the game die.
It just occurred to me(I'm sleep deprived, OK? don't judge >.<)...doesn't it say on the items if they are still usable? Or is that just for some of them? Like, if it says they are unusable, maybe a list of any and all consumables we can all think of would help? I'd really love to know how much of my stash will be burned by the patch that makes hoarders cry themselves to sleep....
This is more of a mentality problem sadly, most players only wanting +15 and skilled for faster runs in LFG. I won't blame them but the learning community gets left behind too fast due to the huge disparity between the newer (and people who don't play much) and experienced players.
I think it's because the game is trying to keep hardcore players playing while bringing casuals. The only problem I see is that the game won't tell you "This is where casual play ends and hardcore starts." It shouldn't, though.
BHS devs*
As for me I like learning runs a lot more than these silent hardcore runs when people don't say a word and only start to swear if someone screwed up. I had a 2 hours run of ABHM with 15 wipes and it was so cool and struggling and it was really interesting to see how everyone improved or to cry about "Oh God, this is a HELL mode". It was actually a game for a game and not a game for mats. We didn't clear it thought
The first version of them, that you can't get now anyway. If you still have some, just spend them. How hard is that.
Also, seems we are getting a third version, so the current ones will stop being handled, but seems they still work, according to Idi0ticgenius.
They just keep upgrading the token currencies just to prevent a lot of advantage on next stuff to those who hoarded them, I think.
