it says the Dawn tokens we had before will become useless. the current ones stay. Besides, this is a couple months away for us, and the OP needs money in less time than that, so even than it isnt relevant.
70k is certainly possible to get in a week time. You'll have to sell most of what you get tho. First of all, it would be handy if you have multiple toons. In that case it would be best to do quicker dungeons on several/all of em. like said before, doing DFNM for the tokens would be the highest casual gain with certainty. doing the Island of Dawn (mid and/or top), CW, FI, and doing this one several chars would get you a good amount of MWA boxes you can sell for roughly 750g.
On top of this, you can continue doing pvp (CS, FWC and/or Kumas) for credits and spent those on bonanza boxes. the boxes and contents should get you about 2000g per box. depending on how much time you spent on grinding, you can certainly earn 70k in a few days (or a week when not elite)5

One thing I've started doing, is running DFNM across some of my level 65 alts. At the end I get 120 shadecore tokens. I trade those in for a goddess tear and sell that for 1.2k. I do this, usually, on five characters. That's about 6k right there. Then I just do my dailies and sell mwa for other cash. It's been slow progress, but I'm slowly creating a nice savings for next patch this way. Having elite helps a lot with this, because I get double dungeon runs and doubled vanguard rewards credits. If you're going at this with no elite, then I hope you have more than one alt, or a lot of patience. ;_;
(also if you wanna save big, after your friend's birthday maybe consider halting the expensive gift giving? Think about you!)
