yes but you seem to want keep alive vot, lot and highwatch at all cost
i can sacrifice them and merge them with the other server
else i suggested to give free transfer to people in highwatch if their server is merged with pvp server, it is acceptable agreement for everyone for me
Hey Kevin. Can you cleanse my thoughts?
Give people on HW the change to free transfer to Ascension Valley or Celestial Hills, whichever one is lower pop and wouldn't be over populated by the transfers. Do not allow transfers to Mount Tyrannous or Tempest Reach, as these servers have a good pop already and a reputation that would inspire many people to transfer.
After the free transfers, merge Valley of Titans, Lake of Tears, and the remaining population of Highwatch. After a week or two, if the population is low or the server is struggling open up free transfers from Mount Tyrannous and Tempest Reach to the new server, and only the new server. Aim for a population number that you feel comfortable with and ;imit the number of free transfers to the new server to that number.
If you want to be on a sinking ship fine, just don't take the rest of us with you.
Tell that to the massive angry thread from a few weeks back. The raw population numbers are okay, but end-game community was felt to be too small, and the general sense was that anyone skilled is leaving for MT and TR. Maybe that thread and all the players within were full of it, the issue isn't that bad, and it doesn't matter. But is HW sustainable as it is over the long-term? If you think it is, then maybe you're right and there's no need to do anything. But that didn't seem to be the prevailing opinion.
Because it was already explained in the opening post why they don't want to do that. The other servers are fine and don't want/need the hassle of having to deal with name conflicts/collisions. There's no way to just merge them "into" the other server either -- you can only create a new server and move everyone.
I already said that I was okay with that option too, but I hope that not everyone from HW will run away from the potential to build a stronger server.
Anyways for those who think Highwatch is large enough for a server, compare the LFG of Highwatch to the LFG of MT.
Highwatch's PUG group can be counted by the fingers, and THAT is what I call dead. Also the another reason is that even some of the top PvE guilds in HW moved out, because there was zero competition. And dont tell anyone that HW has a PvP scene now, it is a complete joke with very few top players in the upper echelons getting free rank 1s.
At the rate Highwatch is going, it is going to become a non-RP version of CH, too casual and too few people doing endgame content. The (extremely) small price of turning a pve server with a pvp one, that would spice up the eventual product as a whole will attract more people, and then you will actually see the community grow.
Enmasse cant make everyone happy, no matter what they do.
They will do what the bigger group wants or what is better to their servers. And you cant blame them if they dont pick the "side" you are on, if they did they had reasons to, im sure that if they could they wouldnt lose players or make them upset at any cost. Some ppl here need to notice a few things..one of them is that You arent your whole server, You arent the whole community and You arent the only affected by it. Things that can be good for you might not be good for others
To be fair, I've seen very few people actually advocating for the "do nothing" approach. A vast majority of people want a merge, but if the new server is going to be a PvP one, I think it's fair to offer those on HW who want to avoid being on a PvP server a conditional choice. Just because you don't share the same concerns doesn't mean they're not valid. After all, there are other PvE servers and they chose to be a on a PvE server for a reason.
Edit:
In the end, it is ultimately up to EME to decide how to approach it. However this thread is for feedback on the matter and it wouldn't hurt to take this fact into consideration at the very least.
so explain me why i see often free transfer in the other posts ?
and even before the merge thread i see many thread about free transfert, so how you explain that ?
All that you are saying in essence should not worry HW players.
Create another server - make a proposal from which they can not refuse. give players some sort of incentive move to a new server.
give im bonuses.
Please do not break the contract with the existing players of HW.
no matter whether it exists legally or not.
not nice to me personally feel himself the object of creating a better society.
Well, it's also worth stating that not everyone participating in the discussion even has characters that would be affected by the situation anyway, they are just upset about the principle of a PvE player being "forced" onto a PvP server. So that discussion complicates matters a bit as well in terms of what is "at stake". (Of course, that isn't to say those opinions are invalid, because some others on HW have said the same thing too.)
But all in all, you're quite right that there's no perfect solution here. This is a compromise that tries to kill many birds with one stone, but it's not a perfect fix by any means. Giving "PvE on principle" players a way out is a further compromise that may be necessary.
This will be a temporary fix because I think it will mean the death of Highwatch, but it seems to me that is what most people from Highwatch that have voiced their opinion in this discussion want.
