Celestial Hills is doing just fine population wise. We have enough people on our servers we just need a balance on the broker pricing on our servers. ( Like for example [filtered] that's on CH is like twice the price of [filtered] that would be on persay MT's server? ) Like for example for people charging as much for stuff as they do on CH? You'd expect CH's broker to be flooded out the [filtered] with the items that people want but nope. We got people but we dont got half the things people want on our broker. So nope we ( Celestial Hills ) do not need to merge with anybody else.
If anything there needs to be another "Free transfer day" so people can come over and put their stuff on our broker so it'll sell.
But yeah sorry I wont sidetrack this discussion any longer.
Here's one thought I had though....
Why not make one channel thats available everywhere which is a non-pvp channel?
It's a good thought, but the game programming doesn't support that sort of thing at the moment. It would probably take too long for BHS to add that (if they even are willing to do it).
Ppl can think "Why would i go to Valley of Highwatch's Tears when i can just go to a populated and stable server like MT or TR?"
And also ppl from VoT and LoT could just want it as well..if a server that isnt so dead can have it why wouldnt they?..which would be almost the same as pretty much removing 3 servers without making a new one
Im just giving problems to some ideas..im not affected by the merge/transfers, im just seeing too much wrong stuff here with ppl agreeing just because its what they want instead of what makes sense.
Thats one of the things that could work but honestly one of those channels would be dead most of the time, dont forget the open PvP affects only 65's
One idea that i didnt see here but its actually what a friend thought when he saw "65 PvP" is that there would be a PvP skill like Murderous Intent but to PvP, the other person need to have it on as well..for example, if you have the PvP skill on and i dont you cant hit me; but that would be almost useless as well lol, there are Duels and Deathmatches for that.
This is also why I prefer making the new server PvP-65 rather than just regular PvE or regular PvP -- because it gives a unique reason for the server to exist in the eyes of new players.
That's how Highwatch is right now though, you have to enable the pvp when you want to
Edit: Nvm I just checked can't do that in HW...I guess I confused it with how it was in WOW
Yeah..thats why i said to " ONE other PvE Server " in another post also, dont need ppl going everywhere..i didnt think of AV tho lol
But the 65PvP idea is good to me..if it existed when i started playing that would be my option
Giving out server transfers out of this new server would also defeat the purpose of the merge, but it's not like we have a lot of players who do end-game content anyway.
Either change server or completely cancel elite and quit. :proud:
Highwatch is a PVE server.
Lake of Tears & Valley of Titans are PVP servers.
The way Outlaw Declaration works is this: One person uses the skill, thereby declaring themselves an Outlaw. Their name turns red and they get a blue ring around their feet. This player is flagged for PVP. They can PVP and be PVPed by ANYONE (other than their party/guild) as long as they are outside of a safe zone (towns, cities, dungeon entrances, etc). This means they can PVP who are NOT flagged as Outlaws. Only one person needs to be flagged as Outlaw for PVP to happen.
In another scenario, if there are two players who are on a PVP server, and neither of them are declared as Outlaws, they CANNOT PVP each other until one or both of them declares Outlaw.
What you described is how all PVP servers currently work (LoT, VoT, MT). The new server would work the same, except Outlaw Declaration would ONLY be allowed for level 65s. The way LoT, VoT and MT currently work is that Outlaw is available from Level 11, and this means that level 65s can PK players that are lower level than them. This new system would prevent that, as it locks Outlaw and PVP to only level 65.
I hope this helps Highwatch players who do not understand how Outlaw works. I know there were 2 Highwatch players who came to LoT earlier today that did not know how it worked. For Highwatch players who are concerned about not wanting to experience PVP: You will not be forced to experience PVP with this new server. Changing channels is a very good way to avoid running into random Outlaws (they will almost always stay on CH1). You cannot PVP on Island of Dawn, at dungeon entrances, in towns, cities, etc. One thing to understand is Pacifist guilds do not exist on PVP servers. All guilds are automatically declared "ready for battle" and this tag cannot be changed. However, with the new GvG raid system, open world GvGs will be removed. So this will NOT affect you as players.
You can avoid PVP very easily if you are that against it.
And leave Highwatch as it is, if they're to lazy to change channels and surrender in GvG to avoid PvP then they don't deserve any merge.
we could live with that if enmasse choose to made server pve and pvp together as in ktera in 2011, but they choose to split to pve and pvp server, now it is too late to back, what is do is done and it is their fault to create the highwatch problem, it was a stupid idea to gave free week transfer to mount tyranna last year, all the problem we have now it come from enmasse decision in the past and now their solution it is to create more problems
You can't change the past. If they offer transfers for HW players to AV or another PvE server, I think it would solve the main problem people are expressing in this thread. Other than that, I honestly think the solution is better than the alternatives of either a) not getting HW involved at all, or b) making the combined server a regular PvE or PvP server.
