If by cowards you mean to defend our choice for staying in a pve server since thats what we choose before. Yes, we are.

No, the issue is people chose PvE server for a reason. Whatever it may be, they chose to not roll a pvp server, dear god people have different preferences?! holy [filtered], that's so weird right. They chose HW as it's a PvE server and now you're telling them its turning into PvP its like huh? Guess I didn't read the fine print and pooped my server choice. For the record, I'm for the merge but I'd like the option to opt out to transfer as many other players do.

They chose PvE server for a reson being cowards.
And free transfer thing once killed VoT and LoT and will end up ruining this merge.
I won't even bother discussing with you if that's your logic. Seems like a personal problem.
  • @Zeinsu u don't need to, PvE players being cowards is an axiom.

In the end, as was said before, the reason for proposing this configuration for the new combined server was because it creates a new, unique kind of server that has a hope of attracting new players going forward in a way that isn't as likely if it remains plain PvE or plain PvP. (The idea of a server needing a unique identity was a takeaway of the recent HW feedback thread.) As was said from the get-go, mergers with others servers are not being considered by EME because they already have high populations and subjecting all of them to name collisions is too chaotic. Given this, it was felt that the proposal has the potential of helping solve the most problems at once. The risk/drawback is very obvious: there are some PvE players and some PvP players who won't like this compromise because they liked their server the way it was. But the status quo does not appear to be sustainable for these servers in considering the hope of creating a viable playerbase for end-game content. (It is understood that not everyone will feel as strongly about the extent of this problem, and that not everyone will agree that the compromise proposed is "worth it" based on strong personal preferences about PvP.)

Anyway, this is just because there are some new people who aren't going to read 62 pages of backlog. The issue on the table right now is whether EME can consider offering free transfers to AV (or some other PvE server) for those HW players who can't accept the compromise due to personal preference.

To be fair, the first server transfer did screw up LoT and VoT.

I won't show double standards here, all the people who actually cared about their own gameplay from all the three servers has already left for MT or TR. What people has to realise is that for a server to not get even more overpopulated than it already is there should be more incentive to go to another server or stay in their current one.

Just by telling the remaining LoT and VoT to merge with MT is not just hurting MT, but also the entire TERA population. The reason why MT has the best PvE and PvP players, is because EVERYONE goes there. Why everyone goes there? "Perception" and "Mindset". They think that they are with better players in the bigger server and thus go over.

We need a 3rd or 4th server that can show that they have potential to Rival MT. But now there is none, because bandwagoners. Highwatch is the weakest link not just because they have the newest players (and originally many old players transferred over here, and that includes players that originally came from PvP servers), but because they don't have enough of a community that has prospects to grow.

Time and again I see people not even trying the harder dungeons, afraid of wipes, etc. Material and cosmetic prices are way higher in Highwatch compared to the other servers. I won't say there aren't end-game players in Highwatch, because there are. But there is so little competition that even the end-game players are dubbed by other servers "filthy casuals".

When I go to any server I sit at highwatch to inspect people, because those tend to be the level 65 PvE crowd. I don't have to move to Velika Outskirts to see the PvP community because the PvE community says so much in every server.

Look through clears, you get +15 players with Novice in so many dungeons, including SSNM. I am more attentive, so usually when I see that trend I assume he would PvP. Mostly a blank row. This happens in every server, but I see that more in PvE servers, including Highwatch...

Except Highwatch as a server has even fewer players with +15, quite a handful not even having decent crystals/rolls with Slaughter +12 armor. Ironically Highwatch was the server I used to stick with the most before I, as well as many other PvPers and even some PvErs, decided to move on.

And now they are QQing that just because there is slightly more competition they are upset. I can honestly understand the frustrations for PvErs who are afraid of being ganked. That is perfectly normal reaction and I am not blaming you. You have to realise that no other server wants to merge with HW, and the only excuse for LoT and VoT has an option to merge with HW is because all 3 servers WILL die if no action is taken.

merging into PvP65 is the only solution to keep the new server from dying. Turning into PvE meant that there is no incentive for newbies to go to the new server because they hear that Tempest Reach/Celestial Hills/MT is better. Turning into pure PvP will turn EVERY SINGLE HIGHWATCH PLAYER off. PvP65 was the mechanic that allowed people in VO to actually try out proper large-scale PvP to practice for the new Guild competition without the needs of being ganked. And large-scale doesn't equate to Battlegrounds if most PvErs are actually wondering if BGs are large scale. And newsflash, actual PvP guilds do exist in Highwatch, and I know of PvPers who would come back to the new server if the new server shows promise. It is also the only thing allowing lowbies to actually play the game while looking at level 65s fight each other to their deaths without the worry of being killed themselves. And it also eventually allows PvErs in Highwatch to realise why Mount Tyrannas has so many pure PvE guilds despite being labelled as PvP, because the feature almost never affect pure PvE players at all.

Again, it's already too late. All servers listed here will be merged into a OWPVP (LV 65 Players Only) Server in September.

Edit: *According to screenshots of Treeshark in Highwatch, and his visit in VoT.
  • I had been thinking of something else... wouldnt it be a better idea to merge both PVP servers with MT, and HW with one of the PVE, like AV?
There isnt so many people in Lot and Vot to fill MT up, or is there?

    By vkobe logic:

If the player sing up for a pve server he doesnt want to pvp, even a duel is cancer
So this mean we can remove the option of the players in the PvE servers to queue in battlegrounds? since they dont want to pvp, they are not missing anything.

Only people from MT, Lot and VoT would be able to enter battlegrounds

Also he prob will ignore this post =D

If i remember a time ago, EME already said MT and TR are over the 100% capacity, and they had to do some tweaks to allow more players. This is why merging with MT or TR is out of question.

the new server will still be dead though, one of those PvP servers is nearly empty, and other one has less population than HW, even if they merge HW with them, it will be empty, many HW players will either quit, or transfer to somewhere else, I guess that's what EME is trying to do...

Making it a new type of server is the best hope of giving it a chance of future growth, as it gives new players a choice for a PvP server that doesn't feature ganking. If it's just an inevitability that TERA players have no interest in any PvP server that isn't MT, then there was nothing that could be done anyway, given that you can't merge everyone into MT at the moment. So at worst, it delays the inevitable, and at best it provides a new option that has a chance at some growth.

Cool, so merge in September, eh? Is this posted anywhere else or was just in game chat?
I'm so excited about this! I will definitely be one of those transferring to new server from MT, whether it is free or not.

About confirmed merge: I think it's about the fact that LoT and VoT WILL BE merged, but it's not sure about HW and that's why there is this topic.

But if you are right plus there won't be any option to transfer from this 65PvP server to ANY PvE server, I'll be very sad, cause in this case Tera will be next game I'll leave because of PvP.
