A little bit of history for the new-comers, long ago when TERA was subscription, it had many servers. Then one day they realized that it wasn't well for their player count, and in September of 2012, they merged it to only 3 servers, then made it Free to Play. Not too long after that, the player count increased so much that they added servers back over time. In 2015, they added a brand new server called Highwatch. Now in 2016, the player count is falling gradually, so they plan to merge the lowest volume servers.

So yes, NA TERA did have server merges.

After it released for any player in NA, they player count increased so much that they added servers back over time. In 2014, they added Highwatch. Now the player count is lowering once more, and they plan to merge servers once more.

So yes, NA TERA did have server merge.

You don't have to delete your characters, just transfer them to server that aren't going to be merged.
  • According to someone, seems that Treeshark said (in HW's global?) that you'll keep your characters. Just that you can't create anything until you delete and go below the cap limit.

Look, why can't they just create the new class on a different server? Which is what they did before? This seems a non-issue to me. So you would have one mega-group of characters on the merged server that cannot be added to until you go below the cap. To play the new class you would create that extra character on one of the other servers.

I don't see the problem, other than managing that many characters.
