Server Merge Character Problem
So a problem that gets lost in the comments (due to a few Highwatch players spamming that they chose a pve server and shouldn't have to do pvp at all as well as people asking about names and guild names) is
THE PROBLEM: that there are people that have more than 16 characters between all three servers.
EN MASSE'S PROBABLE SOLUTION: I can see En Masse just grandfathering the surplus of characters letting the player keep up to all 48 of the characters if they have them. Sounds like a quick fix. Everyone's happy right? No.
This is pretty much the ultimate [filtered] you for these types of players. Why? Stick with me here. These players don't have a ton of characters for no reason. They like their characters. They gear and costume their mains and then they might even gear and/or costume the ones they use as alts. They typically have every class and multiple races and genders of that class. So if they have every class, and they have 17 characters (let alone 48 characters), the limit is 16. That means when TERA decided to come out with a new class, guess what? They have to delete some of their characters. Now if they have 17, they have to delete 2 characters in order to make the new class. However if they have 48, they now have to delete 37 characters to make just 1 new character. Again, the people who have these characters probably put in quite a lot of time on each of them, and now are being forced to delete characters for 1 new class addition.
So most of you that don't have the cap are probably thinking "who cares, the majority of them are probably just farming alts. Delete them and move on." If you thought this 1. We have just as much right to be entitled to our skepticism of this server merge as the rest of you 2. Fine, I have a solution.
MY SOLUTION:
1. Grandfather the player's that have 17+ characters after the merge. However, when you do release a new class, give them one more allowance per every new class that you introduce. So if a player had 17 characters and you make a new class, let them hold 18 characters. Same if a player has 48, let them have 49.
2. If you won't do number one, you're going to force us to delete all of our surplus anyways, so you really should, (although I doubt EME would) reimburse those players. What I mean by that is just give us a special item or scroll in game that un-soulbinds everything off of that character and multiply that by however many the player's character roster exceeds the server's default maximum allotment- which is, as of now, 16. And by everything, I mean, Gear, Costumes, Pets, and Mounts.
In the end, EME is going to do what they want, but I'm hopeful that this thread can get enough support behind it that EME will at least have to acknowledge that this is a serious concern from the players and hopefully they'll compromise in some sort of way.

Pretty sure 99% of those characters are just for name selling. Mind you GMs do not encourage your shady business.
A simple solution if:
1. you have $20 x #(up to 32) to move your characters to another server
2. if you dont already have alts on other servers too.
Just get founder duh 30$ ez pz.!
I do have founder status. Ok, I have 8 character slots per server. Its still $20/character to transfer. I don't see what you're getting at.
A wise man once told me "Elite makes everything better!"
during this situation they usually make server transfers free, and executing other servers not able to server transfer to. Like what they did when Highwatch first opened up, free server transfer but not allowed for other PvE servers.
I wasn't aware of them every offering free transfers except when HW first came out and back then I had no desire to move any of my characters as I was content. However rumor was, they don't want to offer transfers because it "defeats the point of a server merge" because they're trying to boost the economy. However, maybe they would make an exception to players with these circumstances. I just don't feel like it would happen without offering the HW players a chance to move to a PvE server. Because although this is an issue, the HW players that went to HW for pure PvE has just as much of a right to a server transfer as us.
I dont name sell :u I've been playing for 3 years
