World Boss Achieves- There's A Better Way!

I want to first ask that we keep this an adult conversation, i'm not posting this just so people can flame and troll, i would like to have an actual discussion and hear peoples CONSTRUCTIVE opinions about the topic. Before i go any further let me just say this is not a QQ thread about how hard world boss achieves are.. this is just an idea i had that i think BHS/EME may have overlooked as a viable possibility. I also ask that you please read this post in its entirety before replying. Now lets get to it :)

So i have been achieve grinding a lot lately for laurels, and have reached a point on several chars where i need world boss achieves. (and yes i know you can get champ without them/just a few of them but the alternatives i have left are even harder and more time consuming) During my many many hours spent running around looking for these creatures i have found a total of 2.. 2 world bosses in about 2 weeks worth of hunting, and as i run around to all the different spawn locations i cant help but think to myself "how do they expect people to ever get these achieves when they have creatures spawning at unpredictable times (unpredictable to all except whoever killed last, and even then that person only has a rough estimate for the next respawn) and millions of players in game, many many many of which are all hunting for these creatures as well, and we all need up to 100 kills on each of them?"

Obviously i'm not the first person to have this thought.. most people immediately jump to "they need to increase the spawn rate!", and while that would be lovely, it would not really help the issue because then people will just sit on them and farm, still leaving hundreds of thousands of people not seeing the boss for weeks/months/years.. it would also decrease the value of these achievements and pretty much make diamond-champ laurels a cake walk... This is not what i want.. and of course not what BHS/EME wants (remember their goal is to keep us in game as much as possible :p ) So I spent a lot of time putting myself in the devs shoes and asking myself "what would be a good alternative to the current system? How can they give everyone a fair and equal opportunity to get these boss kills while keeping them just as challenging/time consuming?"

The Concept Summary below is what i came up with, i have no doubt some people will argue about the numbers i came up with, some will say it makes it too easy, others will say its too hard still, but the idea is not to make the achieves easier or faster to grind, it is simply to give everyone an opportunity to get the kills without dedicating a lifetime to checking spawn locations. Either way i think the concept itself is a much better system than what we currently have and i would abosultely love it if we gave this enough attention to have it considered!!

Concept Summary:
World bosses all spawn much more frequently. (every 5mins - 30mins max)
BUT your character receives a 24hr cooldown for killing that boss.
Ideally a "World Boss Menu" would be implemented into game to keep track of which bosses you are on cooldown for, another good feature that could be in this menu would be a map showing spawn locations for each boss, i don't see why they shouldn't just show them to us since everyone just googles the locations anyway.

In conclusion this system would give everyone in game a fair and equal chance to get the kills, it would keep people from sitting and farming, and for the 100kill achieves would still take over 3months even if you worked at it everyday. Lets get EME looking at this so we can get ourselves a better world boss system for the sake of everyone! :)

    There aren't MILLIONS of people playing TERA XD. There's barely a few thousands ! You absolutely don't seem to have a grasp on the reality of things, and there is a much simplier solution than what you are offering, which people are already doing: World Boss Farm Raids.
    These are people who are hunting World Bosses constantly, when they find one they'll put it into a table that'll let them know the window of the next respawn, which is known. Hence people know where and what to check, and do get them at a regular rate. You can get up to 2/3 kills of every World Boss a day when being in such a raid, but it is extremly time consuming (even though, this doesn't seem like your issue).
    Oh and to clarify, yes you do get kill count in a raid.

    Edit: I forgot to maybe mention this: in a few months, all these achievements are going to be changed. You will need to only kill 1 instead of 100, so it's up to you if you want to get them before.

    also, 100 kill achievements will be reduced in a future update, just saying.

    And tbh most world bosses in games are extra features. Achievements isn't something that players have to do to advance in the game, so nah.
  • The achievements are changing next patch so you only need to kill 1 of each.

    @both yes im aware theyre being reduced, but having to kill less doesnt do anyone any good when the vast majority of players havent even SEEN most of the world bosses because the handful of people who do see them keep them down constantly. personally id rather they stay at 100 but just use my system or a system like it so they're more available to everyone without being farmable.

    @Kimimishan millions may have been in exagerated but in reality theres more than a few thousand. steam has logs showing up to 25k players playing at once, and that just logs people playign through steam.. doesnt include the thousands of people who bought hard copy when it launched or the even more thousands who downloaded it when it went f2p who dont play through steam. but regardless when you have creatures spawning only once every 2-3 days and a good portion of those players all hunting for it, it makes a .00001% chance for everyone to get it.. no one wants to waste time trying to do something when they know the odds are that low. and WB raid parties are a joke, just elitist [filtered] holes who refuse to inv cuz you dont know anyone in the group or dont have +15 gears...

    @aeee98 True achievements aren't something players HAVE to do true, but nothing is really.. leveling is easy, gearing is easy, almost everything that everyone does at any given moment isnt because they have to, but because its what they WANT to do which is why they're playing the game in the first place, just because something isnt part of the primary game progression doesn't mean it should be designed to where only a few players who happen to stumble across it get to benefit from it while people who are actively seeking to participate in it are left out...

    Except, there is a reason why world bosses are world bosses. If you do actively seek, you will eventually find it. If world bosses are any easier to find at current patch there is no meaning to the achievement anymore. I like the way it is, even if I want to do this on 16 characters.

    im get Rule Aurun in lv 60 , 3 weeks ago.

    the archivement is hard, more if you soloed

    and in next pacht ( before GvG ) they get to 100/100 kills to 1 kills for each.......will be more "easy" ( like darzan and hurzaras "easy" archivemnets) to get them.

    by the way, BHS and eme dont care about hard archivement because only few people do it ( and obtain )

    and this for this reason NEXOn Change this

    wait for next pachts ..................... and no, you want easy way, if you want this archivement, do before archivements changes

    remember, since "Aliance " Pacht, this WBs Respawns Timers get to hell ( +12 -38 hours sometimes ) and this was since 2013 .........

  • IMO, killing the boss should be the challenging part, not finding them. They really aren't bosses when they just fall over after one auto attack.

    I'm honestly going to miss having to kill 100 of each boss to get Willoe. I've finished Rule Arun and Boss of Shara on 2 characters now and was planning to do it on 2 more.... if the reduction to 1 kill each is brought to NA, I'll have a fairy pet on literally every character the day patch hits, due to getting them done beforehand. Ideally, the individual world boss achievements should be 1 kill each, but Rule/Boss should still require the same as it does now, or owning Willoe will lose it's prestige and just become another thing that everyone has done, with little else to pursue.
  • @bzhen0915 they used to be hard and entertaining, look up 2013 YouTube videos, but BHS decided to make them super easy :(
  • It's an MMO, You've got to work with the other players to accomplish goals like this. That's why there's world boss hunting groups on most servers, just have to find them and prove your worth.


    Also I had seen you said you were still unlikely to find any even after the next patch changes to achievements.
    You will most certainly find LOTS more after this change, since instead of someone hunting 100 of them, they'll get their one and be done.
    After i'm sure will be a short while of this you'll be able to get any wbam you could ever please so easily.
    So yes at first few weeks they might be hunted to an even more extreme then they are now, but after that dies down it'll be e-z street.

    I'd even wager 2-3 months after patch, you'll be able to get all rule titles in a single day.
