Leveling and Dungeons Quests/XP

I just recently returned to the game after a very long break and am now leveling a new toon. I remember when I first played running all the dungeons for the quests was very important. Today I hit 24 and got to the Bastion of Lok dungeon quests. I sat in queue for over 15 minutes. With the increase in other quest xp is it still important to run these dungeons or can they be skipped? Thanks for the advice and any other you might have for leveling!

The fastest ways to level up are dungeon spamming, mob/BAM grinding and now you have the option to play the new Kumasylum that can give you a few levels..im not sure whats the minimum level but if i remember it right its 30.
You could try to solo BoL and other dungeons too.
As far as i know questing is still one of the slowest ways to level unless its done with something else like IM/BG..i didnt hear about the quest XP increase before tho.

Low level quests level you pretty fast, and yes they give more exp compared to last time. If you are playing a Brawler or Ninja, I recommend you to solo the dungeon if you feel confident that you won't lag spike on mobs because honestly they hit for nearly nothing unless you do something wrong.

There is nothing wrong to IMS while doing quests. You can safely skip entire storylines AND dungeons, although it will feel awkward to your playing experience.
  • I noticed you could Solo the dungeon but it states that you will not receive the quest xp completion unless you are in a group. Leveling so far seems more fluid than last time. Could just be me though. Thanks for the responses!

You can queue for kumas at level 20.

By "solo" it usually means that you just enter the normal mode and complete it yourself. Usually it helps to be a bit over-leveled when doing that, but if you know what you're doing it's usually not that hard.

As for the best ways to level up, I would recommend doing vanguard quests and dungeon spamming (and the occasional kumas) until level 30-40. At around level 40-42 stop doing kumas all that often and do vanguards more often (like quench the desert fire) as well as continuing to queue for dungeons. After you get to about 45-50, you should start doing more dungeons and kumas than vanguards. At 52, start grinding Devan Mobs in the woods near Dragonfall (forget the name, it's "something junction") and do that until 55-60, all the while grinding the Golden Labyrinth and Sky Garden. At about level 58, start grinding at Pathfinder post until 60. You can do the story quests for this area though, it's not that long and pretty rewarding for how short it is. At level 60, you can grind the story quests while spamming Sabex Armory until level 65. Then complete the story quests at your own leisure for vanguard credits and gold if you want. After that, do the Island of Dawn quests to obtain your Dreadnaught gear, +12 it, and WALLAH! You're on your way to end-game. ;)

Wow! Great info there. Thank you! I will get on that. It seems that the dungeon queues are a bit longer than I remembered. I sat in BoL queue for over 15 minutes and finally just logged out because it was getting late.

Yeah, the queue times for the earlier dungeons are pretty long, and especially as a DPS class they hurt a lot. End game dungeons (other than LoT in my experience) queue somewhat often. Just keep grinding mobs to keep yourself busy while you're waiting and you'll be fine. :P
