How do you keep the game from getting boring?

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I've decided that I've burned out on the game a little and maybe need a break, play other games for a while or something. I have a great guild and friends in TERA on CH but when I play a game I want it to be more than a glorified chat server. I want there to be some real incentive for me to actually play the game and TERA just doesn't have that anymore. TERA's gorgeous world and lore is what drew me into the game and I stayed for the amazing combat. I have 4 characters at 65 already and another 3 waiting to finish leveling. But endgame feels so stale, just running the same 3 dungeons and IoD quests. I guess I could always do reputation quests and work on achievements, but it's telling to see that so many people stick with the game for reasons that aren't really even related to the game content itself.

Maybe I'll come back in a while and see how it goes then.

If the game starts to feel stale, take a short break and play something else. If you begin to treat Tera like a job, logging in every day just to log in, you're more likely to quit.

If you're so inclined, play another mmo and compare it to Tera. I quit last October because of TSHM and my ex, took an 8 month break to play GW2 and BnS, and upon returning remembered why I played Tera to begin with.

Maybe you just need a break.

I normally just farm around and focus on helping others, I love spending time preparing my characters.

I am a lone player and I rarely feel burned out, trying new classes helps.

Just as a bit of a side-comment here, I think this is actually not so uncommon for all MMOs, even those that do objectively have more "content" than TERA. What really keeps people invested in any MMO is their friends and the motivation to do things together with them. Because most MMOs are designed to minimize the amount of time a new player would take to catch up to end-game, dedicated players will reach absolutely reach the wall at some point. Certainly it would be nice if TERA had more side-systems like housing, fishing, cosmetic crafting, etc. that could help fill that gap a bit, but even then people burn out. This is why my view is always that people shouldn't necessarily approach MMOs as if they can pick one and only one, particularly if the game is F2P in the first place.

The friends you meet, and the people within guilds make every dungeon run less boring. Honestly, without the people I've met so far, I probably would've quit ages ago.

Also there is always a drive for me to keep improving my play and striving to be the best player at a certain class. Having this mentality definitely makes the grind for something much less tedious. Slaying runs also make the game more interesting, and is another learning curve in doing the highest damage possible.

Sometimes i look for places where i can take that sweet screenshot, and if im bored enough, i turn on Bandicam and start recording. Maybe in the future i can make a funny video of my adventures. Been too busy to make videos like i did in the past, with work and endless Imperator Farming
