It's becoming a norm in mmos that people have to learn to play it anywhere BUT inside the mmo itself. By now, you MUST read guides. You MUST watch videos. You are not allowed to learn by trial and error anymore because that's just reinventing the wheel and makes everyone's run much slower. And for the end game hardcore, time is more precious than money. If you want trial and error, go play a single player game.

Now, I personally don't like this system, but it's what the end game community expects from anyone trying to enter their niche. No substitutes allowed.

its soo funny read your critics about tanks playstyle xD we all agre that we the game needs more tanks but let me ask you a question...whats the motivation that the game give us as tank if: 1) ppl only choose skilled tank... 2) the higher prices on gear are the tank ones!!! tanks weap and armor are the most expensive on broker and higher priced on broker!!! and still are ppl saying to tanks "yo you should improve that gear blablabla" (mostly to lancers) how he/she is gonna improve gear if drop are an almost awfull 0.3% that especific weap drop...and +800k on broker for PVE servers...i dont see ppl supportinmg tanks in that point...just criying and argue against tank...think about that...lower class on the game (tank) are the one with the higher prices on brokers and the most excluded from picky party leader...just think a little on that...
sorry for my writting skill...i havent practice inglish for too long (just 2 months since i learn it)

I'm not sure why you think gear costs more for tanks than dps/healers. On TR they all have similar weapon costs for SF and Imp. It's also a supply vs demand, there were a lot of Brawlers so making or buying Imperator for Brawler early on would obviously cost more. It's also not the community's responsibility to just hand out free/cheap VM gear anyways.

I'm on the fence with this one. No, you don't need a tank for low level content and no I don't think this makes tanks less able at higher levels due to poor training - that could be said of any class role.

Tanking comes down to knowing boss mechanics and while most bosses share mechanics and tells, you're not going to be worse off for not tanking low level dungeons. I feel like IoD bams do a very good job at educating people on tells, so in my opinion if you're looking to learn avoid dungeons altogether as open world bosses are the best source of learning.

As it's been said I won't touch on it other than to repeat, pre-65 and 65 tanking are very different and you'll be afforded a lot of time to train on relevant content at 65.

All that said, if you're a good tank you'll be able to hold aggro no matter who started a boss first. You may struggle positioning a boss since it doesn't seem they're offering you the opportunity to move it, but that's not something that matters pre-65.

Tanks that queue for IM should expect dps to rush through with their +9 Avatar weapons
There's nothing special about tanking pre 65.
Still not an excuse to be an annoying twit to anyone who asks politely for something.
