Who's afraid of the hyped Ninja patch if there is any?
Veteran player here... I want to be hyped up for the ninja patch, but I just can't bring myself to love Tera. Is anyone afraid it's going to be another disappointment? The same cycle is going to start up again... Ninjas are going to be OP then after 2 weeks of the patch, people going to stop playing the game once again cause there's nothing to do or just not rewarding to play. It also doesn't feel like there's that much hyped for the ninja patch because there has been many people that have already left Tera. I once had an entire friend-list and was one of the biggest top guild and every-time I check the friend-list or guild-list, it's a ghost town and people haven't logged in in months.

With the way that Tera is and it's current state, it's usually hard to keep players occupied when there's not that much new content with each release, aka not much to do outside of the usual dungeon runs and then generally CS if that tickles your fancy.
Too many people complain in this game. It kinda ruins the anticipation. Wing it. Loosen up.
As for the patch, yes. It will pick the interest of past Tera players if they see it. Some will come, some won't bother. I myself skipped the whole Gunner era because of lack of interest, and came back not for Ninja nor Brawler, but to see the colorful visuals again. Will probably leave again soonish. The mystic buff is a sort boon in a sea of bad decisions yet still an addition to the overall bad decision process. I mean, the devs or whoever is boss to the devs decided to make OP classes left and right, break all balance, then patch old classes little by little, usually by adding even more buffs to the game, all instead of just making the new classes balanced, or at least not dps demons in the first place. And that's the part that may scare old timers to the game. Though it seems to happen to all mmos. Apparently power sells and all mmos buff their characters in the long run. Though some manage to keep things more balanced overall that others.
dont worry cute elin ninja will be OP in cuteness and firepower and i think in pvp
and you will see so many naruto fan in tera in one day
Yeah, it will be a say day for Tera. Let's have a moment of silence.
And faceplant into invisible walls!
In all seriousness, I was hyped in all patches because it's something new. This one is special to me though, as it comes with the long awaited healer changes..(Since December 3rd!) and healer damage buffs. It adds another character i can solo things on. I'm very excited for what's to come on the 17th!
This is sadly, the truth.
There are no other action based MMOs with an anime-esque art style, skill based pvp system, and truly open 3D world. The closest thing was Black desert, but it lacks structure and isn't F2P. Tera has no direct competition. Eme is trying and the BC/KS update was a huge improvement that brought FWC back, but without BHS stepping in and fixing actual mechanical problems this game is living on borrowed time.
The new "update" is another iteration of identical gear farming circlejerk fueled by the only thing that matters: cashshop greed - or - from publisher's perspective, a whale farming simulator. Sentence that would be more fitting is "do you have any hope, that some part of this update will not be another disappointment".
Sadly, [filtered] players spending thousands of dollars everytime something new hits the game (cash shop fluff, update, w/e) is sufficient enough. hell look at EME - it's been enough to fund all their mobile nonsenses and ZMR.
It's so sufficient, they won't even consider something along the lines of "less is more", "gameplay instead of endless cash shop baits" and so on.
The problem with Blade and Soul (BnS) is that their pulisher is just a bunch of idiots. people not following common sense. They are there to kill the game, not to make money. Oh well, not gonna talk about it anymore. It's just gonna upset me again.
And there you had a very nice example. BnS coming out new, tons of problems. Instead of solving them, they rolled out the warlock class. And guess what? People left the game despite the new class. From a 1000-player-login-server-queue to a deserted game where you couldn't find even a buddy in 2h for your dailies/next gear upgrade dungeon.
Need .. to.. stop.. raging..
Those games aren't meant to be played on PC's cause we use keyboards to play. That sort of game should have been created for consoles.
The game has nice flashy moves but requires some on point reactions. Too many buttons to press to play it efficiently like it was meant to.
