What's a good crit resist for a pvp priest?

200? 150... ~170?
I think most non-gunner dps run with 200 crit.. is crit-to-critresist 1 to 1 or close to it?

Get as much as you can. Same goes for max health rolls. The only real place where you can choose is earrings, where you need 10% stun duration reduction. So whether you go max health or crit resist there is up to you.

Etchings= crit resist because hp doesn't add enough.

Endurance reduces damage by less than the hp you'd gain from max hp rolls, so it's pretty useless
  • As a priest, I tested def vs crit resistance and crit resistance always win
    23k + 23k def but +75 crit resistance
    vs
    23k + 14k def but +193 crit resistance

The more def barely reduced the dmg, about like 17% less dmg taken or so(~) but 38/50 of them were all crit,
The +193 crit resistance, only 16/50 hits were crits.

The more crit resistance the better, won't worry about def too much--get full HP and crit resistance, crit heal is good in pvp, try to get about +50 or so.

My stats: (with charm and priest buff, no auras)

    165k in FWC
    51 + 211 crit resistance
    23k + 14.5k DEF
  • I don't think the -20% stun duration is worth ONLY if its FWC. It's a needed roll for Champions' Skyring trio queue and duels or outlaw only. In FWC, as a priest you normally die cuz youre being overwhelmed by staggers and KD and you can't run away--like 95% of the time. I prefer to roll either 4% (3.2k HP) + 10 crit resistance = 6.4k + 20 crit ressitance OR roll all crit resist for 32 crit resist for earrings
  • I rolled +16 crit resistance per ring, 4% hp/10 crit resist per earring, 10 crit resist for necklace, 8 crit resist for brooch/belt and 7.2% HP innerwear
  • Don't even go for crit resist wtf.
90% off all the players are going full power build!
it is so much better to roll endurance build on priest for pvp ! trust me

I'm in the camp that there is nothing greater than +crit resist.

Crits are your main killer, because if they don't crit you, you will probably survive.

If you have 10 people attacking you, and you are running like a mofo - the main difference between life and death, is if someone gets a decent crit off. Otherwise you'll just heal through it and live.

Obviously things like stun and knock up are a problem, but rarely are you going to be 100-0ed, before the CC lock is over. And even then, the crit resist will help immensely.

If someone is stacking power instead of crit, then all the more reason to not want them to crit!!!!

As a healer, the more you can reduce wildcards, the better your chances of survival.

Now, some skills innately will have a very high chance to crit against you, but IMO, the less chance, the better, even if it means it will still likely crit (plus most of their other skills will not have such a chance.).
  • I don't kno ive tried full crit resist build and i don't rly like it, cuz a sorc can still 1shot me or a balder ...
crit resist = is pure rng and i don't trust rng
endurance build = less dmge taken so i find it more usefull

High Crit Resist = you dont get crit as much so less damage.
High Endurance = you get crit more but less damage on crits.
While i agree that Crit Resist is RNG, im more to the Crit Resist side because i rarely die to white hits, dont think it ever happened actually.
Right now you see many ppl going full power in PvP, but then as Mobius said, if they crit with a lot of power, it will hurt a lot
10 more Endurance on my character reduced the damage i take by ~3,8% (not saying its hard to get more than 10 and im pretty sure its not like this in every case, was just a number that was easy for me to get and easy to do math with-that i didnt need in the end-)
While everytime someone cant crit, youre reducing the damage it would be by a lot.
To me Crit Resist seems to be more worth it, make the RNG your friend by making the chance to resist so high that ppl will barely crit on you.
Ive seen many Endurance Priest/Mystics tho and they did fine..imo its really up to the person and how they feel safe.
  • true ive used the crit resist build for 1 year maybe even more, i just changed it around the last patch.
For 3s i love crit resist build but for fraywind games and open world pvp i rather use endurance build xd lel

Endurance is crap. Healers have the highest base endurance, and endurance suffers from massive diminishing returns.

You get less than .5% damage reduction per point of endurance. Sure, it helps, but it ranks lower on the totem pole.

Crit is RNG, so the more crit resist, the LESS RNG you have to deal with. If you don't like dealing with RNG, then going for endurance is going to actually make you deal with MORE of it!!

And a sorcerer can't one shot you unless your gear is crap (or in certain circumstances in alliance.). Even if you had zero +HP, they still can't one shot you in Conflate and/or starfall. And they definitely can't one shot you if you RESIST the crit!

Endurance is certainly useful, don't get me wrong. I actually have a couple rolls on my jewelry, since +6 crit resist vs. 4 endurance is debatable. But I certainly wouldn't get it for my etchings. 3v3, FWC, open world, alliance - doesn't matter where.

    Thanks for all the input
Been putting off etching my chest piece but now I think I'll go with crit resist

Tho there's still something nagging me about having TOO much crit resist. Like to where its benefits are diminished logarithmically, and you were better off allocating to Endurance after a crit resist of say... 250? O well

Just wanted a balance of stats that'll help me live by the end of those chance stagger/stun/kd locks. I don't need anything that'll protect me from a 1-shot cos I have a pretty technical playstyle, and if I put myself in a Fire Blast or BV (which have a more complex setup than staggerlocks imo), it's my fault not gear's fault. Red means dead! :^)
