[Mystic] Only one healing skill until 60?

I made a mystic to level and looked at my skills to see what to expect, do I only get one healing ability at 18 and then no other healing ability until 60? I looked at the priests skills and they have far more heals, including healing over time effects and the sort. What gives? Do mystics only have 1-2 healing abilities?

  • Yes, you have no other direct healing skill besides TF before Lv.60.
But you also have both vitae motes and Thrall of Life which indirectly heal [before Lv.60]

  • Seems like a very boring class to level

It becomes very fun and much more versatile at 65. Keep at it.
  • You also get thrall of life early on, though it's better for a self heal than a party heal... Motes ftw :D

If all you are doing is healing, you're doing it wrong...
  • I just came back and made a Mystic. So far so good. =)
  • Mystic is the favored healer class for end game due to aura that doubles crit the damage buff and the constant mp regen. There's also the motes but not many people pick them up.

Totem and boomerang come at around 58-63. Don't remember them well but I'm almost sure they are both pre-65.

bommerang came with fate of arun patch

the totem is very old, i remember than in the past mystic love to spam it with skittle in velika to protest to being dying class :)
  • Thanks for all the responses guys. It just seems to me if I was interested in being a mystic for being a healer than the very limited healing spells would be a turn off, which it is.

Mystic is more of an hybrid healer. It does a superb job at healing in end game, even with less actual healing skills than priest, but the package is still there. To "heal" a character you just need to give them HP and remove debuffs, and mystic has both things. just not in the amounts priest have.

It's important to note that mystic is advertised as a hybrid class for a reason, as mentioned the only two heals you're missing leading up to 60 is boomerang (given at 63) and totem (which is at 60). You essentially have all of your healing kit already.

Boomerang is a great skill when you learn how to use it properly, especially in groups heavy on melee DPs. Totem on the other hand is rarely used by most, except a few choice mechanics that can still be done without it.

At 65 when in PvE you're really just using your lock on heal, cleanse, boomerang, red motes, corruption ring, volley of curses and contagion. If you're being pressured or expecting a group cleanse you'll use your fairy.

Coming from a former priest main perspective, even with mystics limited healing kit compared to a priest, they are still very strong healers and I actually prefer to heal on them than I do my priest. Red mote healing and double stacking, with the change to lock on heal were game changing buffs for mystic.
  • I'd suggest in party you add "pick up the dam motes if you need healing" but mystic is great if you like to both dps and healing at same time. The thing about mystics is they require higher skill lvl to play well then all other classes except priest. It all depends on what you like to do most for any class.
