Why is VM7 low?

I'm wondering why VM7 has so few pvp stats compared to vm6.
Is this some kind of mistake or what?
Personally I think they tried to make it balanced by removing the stats, but that was a failure.
VM7 should be like 5% better. VM6 - everyone can get it and VM7 also gets easier to obtain.
I got my pieces within a few days. It's boring to have nothing to work on.

Can anyone give me references to upcoming improvements and should I only stay on VM7+15 weapon + belt?
I'm a sorc

I'm sure PvPers like me, who don't want to have to +15 to PvP, were a large part of the reason.

They reverted back to having PvP and PvE sets, instead of hybrid sets.

Starfall was meant to be hybrid (for PvP and PvE). IMP was not. +15 has been a issue for PvP since it was introduced b/c whoever gets it first is, for the most part, the best because of how strong it is.

Most people take half a patch or more to get the latest VM +15, so PvP becomes unfair to those without it (even if they are adequately skilled).

Now, Conflate is here. It's only +12 and already almost as good as +15 VM. Next patch, Conflate will get a buff making it best PvP gear. Sure VM8 might be better in certain slots, but Conflate will be right there at the top... and it's quite easy to make.

Hopefully PvP sees a turn around from this.
  • @ChiSau But Imp is meant to be hybrid? How is it not?

Imp was not meant to be a hybrid set, it may have some pvp rolls but that doesn't necessarily make it a hybrid set.
  • Why was it not then? What makes it not one when it clearly has rolls for both?

Bonus question: If it was not meant to be hybrid, why did they buff the defense on it for pvp?

The amount of rolls. Starfall has 3 rolls for pvp before rerollables on the weapon alone.

As for your bonus question, it was boosted because BHS likes to make it's BiS gear stronger than [filtered] all for no reason. Tbh I'm not 100% sure, I'm not a subject matter expert on why that was done, someone else should be able to shed more light. But you can look at vm7 vs vm6 and see the difference in rolls.
  • I see different types of rolls that come out to the same results, so I don't see why it's not hybrid. The fact that they wanted it to be better in PvP supports it as well.

It's rather obvious that they don't want VM gear to be necessary for PvP anymore.

But it at least seems like they want it to be usable for PvP, in the case you have it.

But weird things like Conflate boots losing PvP defense, just makes me think that people at BHS are simply overly medicated or on some type of drug. *shrug*

This whole thing is a mess.
  • As I said in another thread. Imperator for now is BiS but with the upcoming buff for Conflate you might as well forget using Imperator.

Conflate is going to hopefully be the next BiS for PvP. Hybrid sets were a good idea but the +15 struggle yo
  • Hmm, so gearing won't play a major role in PVP anymore.
I don't really understand what for we have non equalized BG's then and I doubt that the fun will last long with all the simplicity. I mean no more 1v3 without noobs and no competition. In my opinion VM will be useless then. Making more DPS in PvE isn't worth it at all, when you can't draw noticeable benefits from it in PVP. Somehow this was always the opposite - just with the last VM update it changed. Seems like this renovation is welcome by the most NA players, though.
  • VM gear will still have its advantage. BiS is going to be a mix of conflate and vm8. The most important piece, weapon, will still be vm8.

VM proc while not that visible will still be vital in PvP.

In contrast, Conflate can compensate for being a really strong affordable set. If you don't want to +15 anything full +12 conflate can compete with +15 Imperator and destroy +15 starfall after update.
  • Next patches BiS is the same as this patch's for classes excluding, priests and mystics which are: VM8+15, Conflate chest, conflate glove, VM8 +15 boots, Conflate belt OR imp belt for that extra 2 power (1 each from base and set bonus).

But if you don't want the hassle of going +15 with vm8 unless you're going for 8.5 then full conflate is good enough since you get that 5 set bonus endurance which does help a bit.

Healers are still: Conflate weapon, chest and VM8 +15 boots and SF glove for the PvP defense/endurance and healing (sure you'll miss out on some defense) and Conflate belt for endurance set bonus.

With VM8 patch bringing in more healing base mods, healers are more likely to get double rolls of those for rings and the highest for the necklace. Thus, having the boots with crit res will help a lot since you won't get as much crit res as before (250+ total on perf rolls/etchings).
