I always thought of HM dungeons and VM gear as optional content made only for hardcore players. But it seems even casuals are getting up there (even if just being carried) so I'm not sure what to think anymore.
- vm gloves are always better because of 3% damage bonus.
- slaughter weapon :
+ 5% more base stats
- starfall weapon :
+ 6.9% damage from behind
+ extra roll (usually 7,2% cdr)
- starfall armor has 4th damage reduction roll for tank, which is like a 5th hardy crystal and so much much more effective than a few hundred defense modifier. I don't think any skilled dps cares about defense.
Yes if you have starfall, there is no reason to get slaughter. But slaughter is there for newer players. Easier to get.
About the 30-raid. I think +15 vm8 is a must if they say it's the hardest dungeon we have ever seen.
About DSU, +12 will leave very little room for error and it will take longer than+15 to clear any way.
If you look around you will see almost everyone had +15. Multiple chars with +15 is not even uncommon. It's not exactly hard core anymore. Unless you play less than 30 minutes a day, you should have at least one +15 weapon.
you can have the new patch gear and still be abit stronger then starfall giving starfall out is just a bandaid to help new players catch up in current content
Their servers are dead. Who cares about it?
They use this promotion to attract new players ...
but: WE ARE NOT STUPID.
You can do all dungeons in full slaughter +12.
IMO: Know what to do in a particular dungeon > your SF or IMP +15.
I've seen some players in full imp+15 played like a [filtered] in NM/HM dungeons.
Money and gear don't change your knowledge and your human skill ability.
yeah i know we suffer too, the game is old so we know it will happen especially with the mistakes bhs and enmasse did
............. this servers always be a low population since was realease ( you know if you see the old forums treads )
Nah they are expecting you to use +15 or else you will be one shotted by a random swing. Pretty sure that is the case.
Actually, this is a really good point that I didn't think about earlier. It probably isn't a coincidence that server merges are happening across many regions right at the same time (EU, NA, and JP). You could say that it's a reflection of the state of the game in general, with may be true, but it's a very good point that it also aligns with the new guild content and the upcoming 30-person raid on the horizon. It wouldn't surprise me if BHS had some call with all the publishers and said "we're planning a hard 30-person raid that won't work with instance matching, so if you have any low population servers, now's the time to consolidate them." And they're all trying to get it done in end-August/early-September, likely just before the next major patch hits (and right after Crusades end). It makes sense...
According to the release notes, it has no option for IMS, you either gather a 30-player raid to enter or you don't enter at all.
Whether the devs nerf it or even buff it will depend, I guess, on how fast the players manage to clear it, other dungeons like SCHM got nerfed but most casual players were still unable to clear it anyway since it was a hard mode instance and, as such, it was meant to be cleared for players who liked challenges -the usual power creep and repetitive clears turned it in a cakewalk, but that's another issue.
