ENMASSE PLEASE READ: You Can Boost New Players in TERA Now???

Hey all.

This is the first time I've heard of something like this, but bear with me, because it was upsetting to hear as well.

Apparently it's starting to become a popular thing now. There are some videos on Youtube I'm sure, regarding the Ninja Elin patch that was released, and now high levels ie; in the 60's so far, are able to boost level 1 players in a field, Velika I think. And I'll tell you a story on how I found this out.

I made a brand new character on Celestial Hills, and I won't say the name of my character, I'll keep it confidential for now unless I'm actually asked, and I'll keep the booster's names' confidential as well, unless I'm properly asked. This level 1 wanted to ask a question of me, and of course, I responded with, "What seems to be the issue?" given the fact I've been playing TERA for about two-three years now. He said he had a high level friend and was confused on how the EXP worked apparently. Saying his friend was with him and how he was only getting 5 EXP from level 60 monsters.

That threw me right off. And of course, I thought to myself, Why is he fighting level 60 monsters? Huh?

So I asked him if he was looking to be carried, and he said yes. I started to laugh at his comment and I proceeded to say, "Sorry man, that's not how this game works. You gotta work for your EXP."

He then explained that he saw a video of an Elin Ninja, who was level one, had a friend that brought her to some field to kill level 60 monsters and apparently got to level 35 very quickly. Now, I don't know the title of the video and where it was on. Back to what happened, I first thought he was asking me to assist, so I responded with, "No, I'm not boosting people, don't know how to, and I never will." And of course he said he already had a friend to help him boost and he said that's not what he was asking of me. His friend came over, and he was level 62, I'm sure of. Then, the level 1 asked me, "Do you want to tag along?" Given the fact I don't like it when people try to exploit a game, I politely declined, saying I enjoyed questing. And to have them leave me, I said, "Have fun though." but I obviously didn't mean what I said about having fun.

Is anyone else hearing about this? Am I the only one that's seen this so far? I'd like to know what all of you think, and if this is seriously happening, this is an issue in my opinion and someone needs to put a stop to it.

Thank you.

it is powerlevel, i thought it stopped to work since long time
  • you can boost a player to about lvl 20/22 by killing the potent teralith (near the old kumas spot iirc) around highwatch, i'm sure you could go to 30 if you rly wanted to but it takes to long and is better to just do some BOL from there, only a quicker way to skip all the 1st island quest / grind to 20 for BOL, nothing new.

It's something people tend to do, power level to 22, since the gear at 22 tends to be cheap, and then dungeon your way from 22 to 60+.

Leveling is easy enough. You have the 100% exp boost that you can buy from the broker, very inexpensive. You have Rested Exp. You have Buddy up Codes, which are a nice way to both level fast, while being rewarded. And if you have the money, you can buy a lvl 60 scroll from the shop to skip all the leveling and go straight for the North Arun continent to get to 65, which at most will take 2 hours.

So basically this boost shaves off.. uh. 15-20 minutes of play time? That's as fast as one can get to lv 20 nowadays unless you stop to read all of the story and watch the cut scenes. <.<

a bit more since you have to xp from 11 (end of isle quest) to 20, just easier to just stay in one spot, and let a friend do all the job in like 10mins.

in golden age it was possible to boost people until 58 before fate of arun in 2 hours, it is what i heard from a friend who sold his powerleveling service

after fate of arun it was until level 63

after they nerf the powerleveling :confounded:

So, all in all, not a serious issue?

If it's only to level 20. No, no serious issue. Then again, even leveling normally nowadays, the game doesn't teach absolutely anything to new players. So leveling right now is moot. People are forced to learn after they get through being humiliated by a kick from a level 65 instance and whatever insults those who kick them send their way.

I see. Thank you for putting my worrying self to ease :p I honestly thought people were exploiting the game in a horrible manner, but luckily, they aren't. Thank you very much! :proud:

I used to powerlevel people from lvl 1-65 back before it got nerfed. Its still possible to do, just takes more time to do so because they cut the amount of exp you get

Power lvling has been a higher thing in tera since the 65 patch hit, wasn't that big before, but when 65 patch hit, that was the fastest way, later on they nerfed the xp from it. I still think it should have been eliminated entirely which was my first suggestion of making to if there was a 15-20+ level gap, the lower level person wouldn't get xp at all, but they decided to just reduce the amount and still making plvling viable up to 22ish.

I dont see why they reduced it to begin with. The only ones that could afford the 80k price for powerleveling was the ones that already had experience in the game.

People just got salty that it was a thing and started all the things like ''Oh you dont get experience with your class, blablabla'' Meanwhile you have people out there right now, that leveled from 1-65 on their own, that is only using auto attack and still using the lvl 20 crystals they got from their first vanguards
  • Sounds like he's talking about the scene from Totaka's video of his Ninja speed run where he has another player PL him til he can solo dungeons the rest of the way to 65.

Thats how I've been lvling alts since the 65 patch XD, plvl to 20-22 and solo dungeons till 60, only stop to do the quest line at 60 cause gear/vg creds/gold makes it worth it.
