Tradeable Glyphs

Could we please have tradeable glyphs? They're completely based on RNG, so you can't choose which ones you'll get. That means you're constantly getting the same ones you've already learned, and right now there's nothing you can do with those duplicates except throw them out or sell them to a merchant.

Comments

  • I think this is an intentional design for you to have a hard time getting the glyph you want (gambling on resources). Imagine how easy it is to get the desire glyph if tradeable and fairly cheap on the broker because of everyone selling the same ones. Yes, it would made our life very easy but they would take out one individual grindy component in the game. This comes down to a subjective view of how one would prefer easier or harder video game in general.
  • The grind is long enough for end-game gear and accessories. Does it really need to be as long for uncommon glyphs?

300 shadetop tokens can be exchanged for any individual glyph, which is 3 days of grinding, or 2 if you run dfnm and convert the shadecore tokens to 60 shadetop

i can't think of a class that needs to have all of their uncommon/rare glyphs; most have 1-3 that are must-haves. the grind for glyphs is nothing compared to gear grind, because unless they add in new ones, it's a one time thing, whereas gear will need to be replaced every few months

Glyphs are already easy to get, just open several boxes then buy the ones that you didn't get, and actually need, through the token shop. When you open the shop you'll know which ones you have and don't have as they'll be lit up if you don't have it yet. https://gyazo.com/4aac3a9e645ce5b3418bda7e92b91afa
  • 300 Shadetop Tokens is a crazy grind, and that's per glyph. The rare glyphs, maybe, but the uncommon ones too? What's the point in them even being different rarities if they're going to cost the same.

It takes 15~20 minutes to get 120. That's 45 minutes to an hour to get 360, to get something that isn't replaced as often isn't much of a grind. You also don't need all those glyphs, and as I said, you could open several boxes and just buy the ones you need that didn't come from boxes.

Just curiosity from a new ish lvl 65 player, how many boxes did you try to open before strong enough to farm shadetop.

What I do is, I first farm Sabex and Macelarius for the first glyphs. Once that is done, if I need something that those two didn't give, I get vanguard credits and buy a glyph ticket. The ticket, when clicked, opens a glyph shop. Note that you won' need all glyphs. Only those you use and those recommended by the guides. Once I'm done with those, I move to the shade token RNG boxes. Note that what you get from the Shade tokens (And the tyrantblood token shop) are different from what you get at sabex, macelarius and vanguard. I buy then several rare glyph boxes from the shade ot tyrant blood token shops and let rng decide what I get. IF after all that I need a glyph that the rare boxes don't give me, THEN I get the 300 shadetop tokens for that glyph. Usually, in most cases I don't need to even get to the shadetop direct buy. On some characters I'll need only one. But usually the ther shops and the rng boxes give me almost all the glyphs I need.

It really depends on the person. For instance, if you can get accessories without using Tryantblood Tokens then you can use those for glyph boxes in addition to the lower tier IOD tokens while you save the Shadetop tokens. I normally go with 10~20 boxes depending on luck, you can always view the shop to see what you're missing after a few and determine whether you should open more boxes or not.

Still a massive grind for glyphs, and it's all PvE content that's required for it.

Glyphs make a massive difference in PvP. You aren't going to use every glyph, but getting every glyph you do use down to the lowest amount of points required means you can use the most glyphs possible.

And glyphs are no joke. Some of the advantages they give you are enough to be the deciding factor in a duel.
  • You can get all of your regular uncommon glyphs from vanguard as well. Do that for all but the ones that will be replaced by the rare glyphs. Also run sabex/mc to help out. Grind IoD as well. That's three methods to getting your glyphs and it's really quite easy to do.

Oh yes. Glyphs are extremely important for pvp. But they are as important for pve too. Healer and archer debuffs come from glyphs, for example. And the ninja's strongest basic rotation is possible through a glyph as well.
  • Something so important in both aspects of the game shouldn't come only from contributions to PvE. What happened to being able to buy glyph boxes with Bellicarium credits? Why not put them back in? Or make all boxes tradeable again? Or just make the glyphs tradeable?

I've opened upwards of 50 boxes, bought all the rare glyphs, and I still have a ton of uncommon ones I can't seem to find. In that same amount of time, I've gotten a Lancer to level 57, geared my Slayer in Dreadnaught and then Slaughter, and gotten all the dyad crystals I need for my Berserker.

All that, and I still can't get the glyphs I need.
