cloth conflate boots v.s. slaughter set

Okay so my question is that which one will give me more defense, conflate boots or slaughter boots?

Conflate boots have more base defense, but with slaughter set, I'll have 6 more endurance so I really don't know which one is better.

is this for pve or pvp? in pve, there is no reason to use conflate with how easy slaughter is to get. if it's for pvp, conflate gets buffed in the next gear patch to be on par with other pvp sets, and you should focus on getting a full set in preparation.

I'm doing it mainly for pve and only a little pvp, so I guess I'll just keep using slaughter until VM8 comes out, or just make VM7.
  • conflate boots are better than slaughter for pve and pvp
  • i would think 6 endurance set bonus would be by far superior than the difference of conflate and slaughter boots beside saving you money

We must remember the set bonus indeed. The last line gives + endurance. BUT if you have, say, a VM weapon and a glove, then a chest and boots of another set, you won't be able to complete the set, so we will have to go to individual stats, where Conflate WILL be better, and will get even better after patch because of planned buff. Slaughter will most probably become the starter gear by then, so not relevant to any meaningful end game anyway other than step stone to gear up for newbies and alts.
  • there would be no reason to have and other piece of the conflate set for pve and having a vm weapon and or any other piece is not what they are even asking which would hurt them even more in pve. the answer to the question is that 6 endurence is better and still would be better after conflate buff

Again what I said, now put in simpler words, if he already has the full slaughter set and no plans to go VM now, he can/should keep the Slaughter boots as only the full set adds the second bonus to endurance. Right now that set bonus should give more def than having a single Conflate piece while everything else is Slaughter. That means I'm not disagreeing with you. It's a known fact that we shouldn't have a single piece of a set anyway since no matter what combination, we will be missing a set bonus endurance line that way. That's why most people who are upgrading or have alts go with 2 pieces of one set and 3 of another.

Now, as flat numbers go, if he has any two other pieces of another set, as in, weapon+glove or even weapon+belt, then conflate boots would give a bit more def(again just in raw numbers), though he should still try to have 3 of one set and 2 of the other to benefit from the most set lines in such situation. So in no situation should he just wear just the Conflate boots. Now, wherever Conflate goes, as a set, it is still more of a pvp set. So even though Conflate boots might give more raw def, the other piece of the set will most likely have pvp lines that replace pve lines, and as such, would be weaker for pve overall. So in the end OP can get Conflate boots and another piece of gear just to ease up pvp a bit. Though would be best if he just invested in full conflate for pvp if he's committed to it.

I wasn't saying in my first post to wear this or wear that. Just stating what the numbers might be depending on what he's wearing. Now I think I explained myself a little more. :3 Also there's the fact that in next patch, Slaughter will most likely become starter low tier gear while Conflate will be buffed to stay relevant to end game pvp. So OP will still need to either go VM7(or 8) or gear up to the new Lillith mid tier set anyway. And OP said he does a bit of pvp indeed. So he can safely start to get and enchant Conflate gear as a side activity and they will stay relevant for a long while.
  • Conflate is getting buffed down the line. If you're mainly doing PvE don't bother with the conflate at all. You'll be wasting resources on a set you won't really feel the benefit of in PvE.

Gloves and Boots iirc don't have lines specific to PvE and PvP. It is an option if you want to go for BiS.

If you want an affordable option, you should go for the full midtier set which is much easier to obtain than conflate.
