FPS Stutter in DS Uppers and with Brawler's Growing Fury skill

edited July 2016 in Game Suggestions
In particular, Kaprima and Manaya can get really, really bad. Growing Fury uptime also seems to lag a lot of people, and if the brawler is particularly good and can keep up GF for most if not all of the fight, the FPS can get unbearable.

It has gotten so bad at certain points that this has happened:

Yes, my computer is aged and its main problem is having an old CPU. My graphics card is decent, it's a GTX 670. Still, while I'm not able to afford to upgrade my CPU, I'm suffering through terrible performance issues when a good brawler is in the party.

I just did a SSHM on my berserker and same problem. Good brawler, good GF uptime, terrible stuttering issues that didn't let me live or DPS well.

Is there any chance BHS can look into this and fix it? Or, dare I say the "O" word, optimize it?
Does anyone who has experienced a similar problem been able to fix it (that isn't upgrading since I can't right now)?

Below two more examples of Kaprima and Manaya fights I've been in. The stutter wasn't particularly bad in these two videos but was still there.

Would like to state that it isn't caused by having an old cpu, I have an overclocked i5 6600k and if I play Brawler with Growing Fury I face severe to moderate fps issues depending on the instance. Example being ABHM, for the entirety of the 2nd boss I play with 1~4 fps with constant freezing. In MM it occurs occasionally as well. So, even if you do upgrade your cpu don't be surprised if you still have issues with Growing Fury.

Welp that's kind of disheartening. My party members do notice some stutter too but it's apparently not nearly as bad as mine.

I-7 4709k @ 4.5ghz and I actually get a legit freeze after I pop my GF and start off my haymaker. But then it gets better after popping it. Only happens here too which is weird.

its not just on DSU, also happens on MM.

The fps stop shuttering when the brawler stop attacking for a while.
  • Same Problem here... I play on a Laptop and with Lancer Tank its completly fine but Brawler? LOL Screen freezes just every 5-10 seconds so I dont even bother with that [filtered] anymore...

I don't have any issues here with growing fury - but the only dungeons I haven't completed on it are DSU and SSHM. I did, however, run with brawlers many times on these dungeons. My screen never stutters like that or freezes like the first video Banim posted. I have the 4790k i7 and a gtx 980 ti. After tera is open for a while, however, my FPS seems to get worse and when I'm opening the UI or moving across instances and the matter, I get a little stutter and FPS decrease, not sure if it has to do with memory leaks or something...

I do still get a small stutter whenever I use the charm/nostrum from elite bar as a keybind, but I think many people have this problem.
Still, it's very unfortunate that your entire client freezes like that - not sure why.

The issue with Tera is the game runs different even when comparing two similar computers. My friend and partner have similar gpus, ram, and same generation intel cpus but my friend gets really bad freezing issues at 2nd boss of TS for example, and it happens to him in some other bosses while she faces no problems at all. My partner also did not have the freezing issue other than ABHM either, even though my cpu and even gpu was better than hers. I got a new desktop, and I don't completely freeze anymore. Haven't checked ABHM with a Brawler yet, but for MM, SSHM, etc there weren't freezing, although my fps still did drop fairly low with a Brawler. It went under 10 fps. I am using a 6700k i7 4.4ghz and gtx 1070 now though.
  • I suspect that the rage bar UI is the cause. Stuttering was worse when I was using a hp bar mod. but still with or without hp mod if it is really whats causing the stuttering it should not stutter like this. this is frustrating and not enjoyable. Community has provided solutions and fixes including this good S1engine for example. https://mega.nz/#!f04UGLYD!_8uajRxv9OD0af2q9oaDEkmHseyg7GIJHfr-cUEH8Es from https://youtube.com/watch?v=dol_5kwnrOY Tera Team please notice these complaints about the game. if it was a game breaking glitch you would look into it right away. A lot of players are experiencing this stuttering and maybe A lot gave up playing the game cause of this. Not Cool.
