New classes always get boring?

Old classes have more skills but a lot of them are redundant or useless.

I refuse to play my Archer in PvE because it's boring as sin. Reaper is actually kind of fun to try to optimize dps on.

It just depend if the class fit your style or no.
  • I like reaper, and I like that it doesn't have a [filtered] load of skills. I mean, i don't have 20 fingers. Easier to control, and the combos are satisfying. Also pretty purple attack animations <3

I tapped into warrior and I found myself being sometimes confused and stressed out because I hit the wrong button or I didn't stun a player in time.

    Just my 2 cents :D
  • All I do on old classes is cast a buff before I use another skill. They could easily add those buffs baseline into slayer/archer. I wouldn't exactly call it more fun because I have more buttons to use. With that said, Slayer is 100% more satisfying to play than Gunner, even if my Gunner is doing vastly more damage with less effort. I'm not really a huge fan of spells having recoil that sends me backwards. 90% of the time pug tanks don't care one bit that I have no where to stand, and recoil usually sends me into poison.

Gunner isn't supposed to have a "rotation", the class is based around Will Power and BF abuse (Which judging by your posts, it seems that even though the class is "easy" you still don't know the basics of Gunner). Older classes also don't have "more" skills, most of them are never going to even be used in pve or they're just a bunch of buffs. I'm not sure how any of the original classes are more "dynamic" either, out of the original classes Warrior is the only one you would have a point for because they're like Gunner with having to manage stacks and adjusting for resets.

It's odd you say you don't like Gunner because they "lack" skills but find Ninja enjoyably when the class literally only uses 2 (3 if you CoS) primary abilities and auto attacks. Then again it seems you're probably not playing any of the classes optimally anyways.

Reading is fundamental, wanna know why?

and so far I'm happy with Ninja,.but I'm afraid I'll find that boring soon, too.

I have tried out these classes and they just don't fit my tastes. I don't see why you're being so defensive. I don't like the class, and I'm allowed not to. Get over it. I found the class boring, it didn't suit me. Why is that such a big deal to you? Even if someone taught me how to "properly" play the class, I would still be bored by the lack of variety.

There was nothing 'defensive' in my response as my response was completely void of emotions. All I stated was the original classes do not have that many skills, some are complete noob traps, and they lack variety (based on your standards), excluding Warrior. If anyone is being defensive here, it would be you honestly. If you didn't want to deal with people disagreeing with you then I suggest not making a thread stating your opinion, as we all have a right to criticize it in ways that don't break any rules. Then again, the purpose was mainly to just hate on the "new" classes anyways.

I'm just trying to have a good time and have an open discussion but I'm not going to let people talk down to me LOL.

I'm not hating on the "new" classes. I mentioned earlier that I enjoyed reaper and gunner initially, but when I played them to the end I got very bored, very fast - whereas with the OLDER classes, they still haven't lost my interest. I wanted to like the two, and I did, but now I don't. I don't think it's that hard to understand?

I currently enjoy ninja and I am HOPING that I don't lose interest, so, we'll see how I feel about this one :^)

Edit: I apologize for coming off as rude, but they are literally just way too easy to me and I don't see why that's a problem. If other people enjoy the classes, then let them, I don't care, it's just not my cup of tea.

That's exactly what I was trying to say. They're not my style and I find them boring, simple as that :anguished:

They feel boring to you the same way archer, sorc or any class can feel boring to someone else. I don't like gunner but reaper is one of my favourite along with archer. I don't like ninja. It has nothing to do with new or old class, it's just preference. I know some people can't stand charging classes, rotation heavy classes and so on.
Besides, most class don't use more skills, if not less, than reaper or gunner (in PvE), which itselt doesn't mean how complex a class is.

I wasn't saying they were boring BECAUSE they were new classes (could have worded the title better but I didn't think people would misunderstand, my bad), I was just saying the new classes _happened_ to feel that way to me - they feel less complex, somehow. I don't know, I'm just saying this that in comparison to the older classes, the new ones hadn't held my attention. I wasn't bashing people who enjoy the old classes, I was just wondering if anyone felt the same way.

For me, less skills = doesn't keep me interested. I just need a lil spice in my life, man D:
  • Honestly i find all the classes in Tera pretty boring overall.

I did read, and responded to both your reasoning as to why you found them boring, which you chose to completely ignore. Your first thing was lack of skills, even though Gunner uses more to equal amount of skills than the average original class. Second point was how dynamic it felt, which I said out of the original classes only Warrior is actually dynamic, as Sorc follows a strict rotation for instance. Those two reasons were the only things you mentioned, and even mentioned lack of skills again at the end saying you wish they had "more". Your whole argument, even in later posts is "lack" of skills. There's nothing wrong with finding them not as interesting, I was only pointing out your reasoning for it doesn't make sense because older classes have the same issues. For instance, I personally don't like Reaper at all, and it's mainly because of how the class just feels. I couldn't get into it when it was released, and I tried the class again last year, and had the same issue.

I guess mystic because i always enjoyed summoning things, always fun spamming motes all over the place.
  • Created almost all classes in Tera except Priest and Archer (my ping sucks for RF).
According to me the most boring class is Gunner. I made it and played it but I cannot felt any satisfactions while using the class.
I'm enjoying playing my Mystic then the rest of my DPS/Tank class...

So everything is up to your choice, I can't blame others standards and preferences but in the end it up to your playstyle and interest.

But slayer is a fun class but it's crit rate is somehow is lacking to me.
