IM Griefing, Toxicity and Misfortunes
Hello EME Tera community.
First time I vent on a forum about actions of other players, but this time I just couldn't let it pass by me.
Now first of all, I am not going to defame anyone or etc since I'm more interested in your opinion about this.
So me (sorcerer) and a friend of mine (brawler) queued up for a run of Forsaken Island, excluding from us there was another sorcerer, a mystic and a slayer.
It started off with the other sorcerer taking more than 5 seconds to enter the dungeon, who the mystic tried to instantly kick and I declined. The buddy of that mystic went the same route and voted to kick the very same sorcerer who was clearly not AFK since he was talking in chat and simply entered manually. Because I declined the kick, mystic got mad and told party to kick me instead.
(Green is the mystic/ dark red is his buddy/Yellow is me/ Red victims+me)

Now at this stage I was okay with kicking the mystic if he's cool with it, but his buddy was not and so we couldn't kick him. Instead of leaving the party or joining in with us, mystic just chose to run around and not heal us. We found out only when we started the first boss, which we managed to clear without the mystic.

This sorcerer who took around 10-15 seconds to teleport into the dungeon, he was quite clueless why mystic acted like that and when he understood it was about him taking few more seconds to teleport into the dungeon he actually apologized (which of course led the good neighbourhood mystic to calling him "noob" for that).

That's the only part where I said something not too nice myself, but well I guess i couldn't resist.

So yeah in general I am making this topic mostly because i felt really bad for the other sorcerer, the guy was a good enough player both in skill and attitude who simply wanted to clear the dungeon, yet ended up as you see in here:

What do you guys think should be done about this kind of behavior? Some players are unlucky enough to match up with people like that more often than I.
I accept any opinions, even ones with tl;dr

I know how you feel @Sirekappa I been in your shoes before. When i do instance matching, i go fully prepared to find this type of persons and behavior, but always looking positive, ready to help to whoever in my party needs help or is first timer in the dungeon. This is the attitude i always go with to Instance Match.
However, like it happened with you, some people just get on my nerves. My most recent experience was with a party for FINM. This was when i was still using my +15 Lucid lance. The first boss went very smooth, with a few deaths cause some users were new to the dungeon, but nothing that cannot be solved. We cleared the first boss, and all of a sudden, i see the Slayer pull the DPS results in our chat window. If there is something that throws me out of my chair in TERA, is people who show DPS meter results in a IMS dungeon. To top it all, he went and bragged about how we was top DPS and the thing that ticked me off was "I thought Lancers did more DPS. Get rid of that trash Lance, you making everything slow". Normally i would had stay silent about this type of comments, but i could not that time. I am a Lancer. Damage done by me, at least this is my opinion, is only secondary. My main job and worries should be to anchor the boss and provide support for my group. My role is not to be at the top of the DPS chart, and lets not forget that DPS meter usage is not allowed. In the end, i told them that if they wanted a quick run, queue a Brawler instead, and proceed to leave them.
TLDR: Always go with a positive attitude into IMS fully prepared to find these type of elitist, and just let em talk all they want, they are not worth your time to give them an answer. Just play through the dungeon the best that you can. If the player is being very hostile, you can just take screenshots of the chat and send them in a ticket. EME discourages this type of behavior and had taken action in the past against this type of players.
I would refrain from that. What are you expecting EME to action? "Bad behavior" (not healing) is not something listed in the ToS. You only pile up the load of tickets for no reason.
The only thing you can do is the same we did in Blade and Soul when encountering bots: leave the party.
MMOs always had and always will have people with such kind of behavior. It's nothing new, neither is there a patented solution for this. Of course there are people who counterstart a flame war, delay the whole party to boycott one single player/go afk, etc. But it's YOUR playtime and nerves you're investing. Dont spoil YOUR free time because some anonymous player with a bad day likes to spread his bad mood.
By the way: meeting the same player through IMS has a very, very low probability. This is why we dont need a cross-server blocking list. We are so many Tera players that you only meet the same people cross-server e.g. in CS during secondary times.
The ticket load in Tera already is high enough. Anyone remember when we had live support? Now we have to wait .. what is it, 5 workdays (?) for a ticket to be worked on?
Besides that, you'd expect EME to set up a hard course. EME would have to put down a list what is being considered "inapprobiate". Now, not even the Tera community can even set up such a list. Even if you had such a list, in the given example you'd have to proof that the mystic did that on purpose.
Dont get me wrong, I fully understand the situation. I often had this when playing the old Kumasylum. People wanted to be kicked as they wanted to spawn as Kuma. They asked for the kick, but back then we had an absolute vote (not the majority vote like now). Always someone dead could not click "Yes" and kicking was practicabilly impossible. These people started to feed the diamonds to the Kumas and laughing at us for throwing the game. "Dont be a [filtered]" (I think this is written in the ToS) doesnt cover that. Back then, we wrote tickets. Did it get better? No. Because - what did we expect EME to do? Ban him? Instead, EME brought the new kicking rule.
tru. i report every DPS that doesn't go 100% hard in the paint with consumables and gear and perfect rotations-- wasting my time is the same as griefing, right? right?????
p.s. /drop is a thing
go grab a snack, pet your dog, brush the dorito dust off your face then requeue.
what are u babbling about? do u know what griefing even means?
Do you even war paint?
