Unable to download manifest

So I was going on TERA to prepare for tomorrow and my launcher, after login just said "Unable to download manifest" without letting me login.

I did what they said on this website but nothing worked.

I uninstalled TERA and now downloaded the launcher again, and it still says the "Unable to download manifest" and doesn't download the game.

Does anyone know any fix?

I could send a support ticket but they say the response time for new tickets is around 4-5 days so I didn't want to, as I need it for tomorrow.

  • Basically this problem is that the launcher cannot connect to the patch server.

Check to see if ever in the past you modified your hosts file to point to a specific patch server.

    1. Click/hit Start
    2. Type "notepad"
    3. Right-click on notepad icon and choose "Run as administrator"
    4. Open the file "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" <- You may need to copy/paste with the quotes
    5. Scroll down the file (it should start with a copyright and then "This is a sample HOSTS file...") and look to see if you have any entry for patch.tera.enmasse-game.com. If so, remove that line or comment it out with a "#". Otherwise, if you did not have a line, you can add one as follows:

    206.248.168.147 patch.tera.enmasse-game.com

    6. Save the file and restart the launcher.

Otherwise, check to see if your browser or Internet Explorer settings are set to use a proxy server.

I'm currently trying the torrent download, if it doesn't work I might try what you said, thank you.
  • Seems like I had the old launcher for some reason (I had it updated), the thing is even after downloading it again it came as the old, now seems to be working by downloading the torrent one.

Ah good -- glad it's working. It's weird that it gave you the old launcher, but it does make sense why that wouldn't work anymore.
