Honestly i find all the classes in Tera pretty boring overall.

Then you shouldn't even be playing this game. I'm not saying you need to go but the statement is silly.

It may be silly but the reason i kept playing was because the overall battle system was far better than any other mmo, even if i found the classes boring.

Though it's why i don't have a main and i why all the years i played this game i never bothered doing any type of team raids.
  • I disagree with new classes always having more simplistic rotations. I think if you want to talk about a "boring" class you look to Zerk. Use 2 damage abilities, 2 filler abilities, your iframe, and some self buffs. Both gunner and reaper have more abilities int heir real rotation since things like a 30 second or 2 minute cooldown buff aren't really in a rotation.

I think it's really a personal preference though. If gunner or reaper fits your playstyle then even with 'less abilities" you're going to find it more interesting than the original classes.

That would be a facepalm class. :^D

While I won't say zerk should be interesting to everybody, it takes a good intimate run as a zerk to really understand that it's not just a cyclone and thunderstrike class. More than any other class in my opinion, a zerker needs to know about positioning almost as if playing a chess game. The low mobility really demands positioning knowledge both in pve and pvp. Mostly in pvp where the environment is completely random unlike pve boss battles.

As for Ninja to OP, you will most likely get bored of the class IF you begin to stick to the current dps rotations. The current main rotation is called the double cut reset. It has only around 4 skills (jagged, double cut, decoy and skyfall, and double cut again if it resets) and the rest is auto attack to reduce cool downs. All while charging avalanche. Fire off avalanche and it's back to double cut reset rotation. You won't use thousand cuts, circle of steel, bladestorm, impact bomb, leaves on wind, chakra thrust, death blossom, and because we lack talents, some people even stop using burning heart unil at least using avalanche once. That's a whole bunch of skills you can't use if you want to maximize dps. Of course, you will use other things for pvp, but that is if you do pvp at all.

Gunner isn't supposed to have a "rotation", the class is based around Will Power and BF abuse (Which judging by your posts, it seems that even though the class is "easy" you still don't know the basics of Gunner). Older classes also don't have "more" skills, most of them are never going to even be used in pve or they're just a bunch of buffs. I'm not sure how any of the original classes are more "dynamic" either, out of the original classes Warrior is the only one you would have a point for because they're like Gunner with having to manage stacks and adjusting for resets.

It's odd you say you don't like Gunner because they "lack" skills but find Ninja enjoyably when the class literally only uses 2 (3 if you CoS) primary abilities and auto attacks. Then again it seems you're probably not playing any of the classes optimally anyways.

gunner does have rotations. theyre just easy to comprehend cus class doesnt have a built in attack speed reduction within combos. time bomb>hb summon>anim cancel with burst fire is a start of a rotation after you build some willpower with double/triple ab rotation at start.
  • Damn new classes, every new class is so easy, that's why people die and do some random things called their own rotations, while dealing 120k/s damage instead of 450k/s. So, easy, so boring, that I think you should try another game.
This discussion is meaningless. Some people likes reaper, some just don't. Someone find archer amazing and loves it, while others cry about buffs and how left out are old classes. Or boring. Or something.
I've tried every class in this game. Tried endgame with every class. I'm too slow for some classes. Even for my main, I'm too damn slow, but I'm not telling everyone "you must admit, there is nothing to enjoy while playing zerker".

I'm pretty much in the same boat at this point, I tried out all the classes...not to 65 mind you but at least to lvl 58. Brawler is the only class that I could have bared the boredom enough to get to lvl cap with. I know brawler is OP af (PVE-Wise) but I love classes that can crowd control and to me the brawler is the ultimate crowd control class in this game (or at least the one that I had the most fun with). Ironically though I did enjoy playing an archer class for a white which requires a lot of effort to CC but I eventually got bored.

The more I play this game.....the more these gender/race locks dawn on me, like why can't i have a [filtered] Amani (male) brawler like I wanted from the get-go!!! I absolutely hate the fact that all I see are Elins running around, I really really dislike that race (like to the point where I wish they would remove it from the game altogether).

Needless to say I'm playing Tera less and less these days......until the inevitable click of that uninstall button.
  • To be honest, I'd have much more fun if I could play newer classes with the race and gender I want them to be. Of course there's no change in skills, but to me, it makes a huge difference seeing a character I like in action. I somehow feel more attached to them, I like spending time on those chars, even if that sounds strange. But that's another topic >:)

It has already been said, but it's really a matter of preference. I prefer the traditional classes, while some people like their amount of skills to be less complex, that's perfectly fine. Just try to find a class you like and, if you feel like it, try to master it beyond the usual rotations. For me, that always boosts my love and interest for a class that I like :)
  • New classes are interesting.

    The answer is simple.

    RNG

If you care to read more:

I think for some if not most people Tera is an exhausting RNG fuckfest grind. Fom the avg. Joe POV it costs too much time and money to heavily invest in more than 1 character. Even if lets say the new class just shits all over yours. Does anybody think the avg player who isn't subbed or making a lot of gold, would just reroll a FOTM class and properly gear her to endgame? Granted it took me approximately 2 weeks to make it to 409 by myself. Now that I'm somewhat knowledgeable about the game and I have tradeable mats, it'll probably take my alt <1 week to +12 armor. Still the RNG factor very demoralizing and the experiencing is off-putting. Don't care what you say it's almost a fact that NA gamers abhor RNG and the less they have to deal with it the better. This not supposed to be a gapcha mobile game and at times Tera does certainly feel like it.

Thus, people prefer to just stick with one.

I hope the only warrior skill that gets deleted is mingle, never had any use for it and who would do the last auto-attack for that to work?

Smoke Aggressor is useless, but it's a very useful spam skill if you want to use slaying crystals at least if you can't use your mount. It could get revamped if it actually did some damage in pve and could stagger players in PvP with their final auto-attack and took less HP from warriors.

Binding Sword would be better in PvP if it acted like a lancer's Giga.

Reaping Slash just needs more damage, so it can be more useful for dpsing besides it's edge, KD and stun ability.

Poison Blade should be like the virulent crystals, but the tick damage doesn't even come close to it even for pve. Either this move deals more raw or tick damage, or this move should get removed and substituted for another one for PvP. Let's face it Poison Blade is only useful for edge stacking.

Cascade is fine, has the same use in PvP and PVE.

More of the Blade Draw Chain skills should do more damage besides only Vortex Slash.

Scythe should have a 100% crit chance all the time, but it's rarely a problem if you build up enough crit.
  • What got me the most about guy's post for FWC is that he said that one person has the ability to carry an entire team, so he said to stop complaining about teams being so trash.

The funny thing is that he's an awakened reaper. Reapers already do a [filtered] load of damage with just one huge AOE skill, but with awakening makes it worse than it already is + boss buffs and red buffs.

In Fact, almost all of the new classes carry in pvp because they're so AOE friendly compared to the old classes except archers and sorcs.

If you use a new class with awakening to win, then there's not much to it except for the fact that you can carry for your trash teams whenever you want just because AOE wins in Mass BGs.

Not all of us are reapers, gunners, or brawlers. So doing that will be a damn near impossible feat.
