because of @vkobe arguing with everyone while he is not even a Highwatch citizen unlike most of us. ''TR is my home'' he says, and yet looking for attention in a server merge thread that doesn't involve anything about TR.

Just ignore that guy, I dont even bother to read his comments anymore.

yeah, yeah you ignore me at the point you still to bother to care about me in this thread B)
  • The insinuation so far is that you won't have extra slots on AV, but could buy them either on the broker or with EMP, but it hasn't been confirmed yet so should probably wait until the confirmation happens before doing anything about it.

Like all server merges, you have to buy your own character slots.

I sure [filtered] hope that isn't true. How would that seem even remotely fair for Highwatch players?
It would be like buying a game, then your game files get deleted by the devs and they tell you to suck it up and buy the game again. With your own money.

I don't know whether to trust them to make this work or not. One one hand, I'm already pissed about the decision of merging the servers for the greater good of PvP players (and [filtered] PvE players eh) and I have a feeling this will be such a deal-breaker that I'll just stop playing TERA altogether (hopefully it doesn't come to that). On the other hand, I can't believe they'd do something so stupid as to screw us players on Highwatch (or other servers that will be merged) this way, risking the loss of multiple paying players.

I'll wait until I get more info, but I'm both hoping for the best and bracing for the worse here. Don't let us down Enmasse.
  • @jbondguy007 The greater good of pvp players wot? Wasn't there a forum post that went like: My server HW is ded pls EME sent halp, halp us all!!!! D: And yes there was also another one about VoT but no one really cared about it (just like no one cares about that dead server :^)) Anyway bye then and good luck!!!

No one will force you to pvp and it will be your own choice to go out of your way to enter a pvp zone.

Huh, let's just say I am extremely uninformed about what's happening. From what I heard, the new merged server would be PvE until level 65, and then level 65 would be forced into PvP. But what you're saying sounds much more reasonable. I honestly kinda freaked out when I heard about this server merge from a friend, and I tend to assume too much.

I'll just wait patiently for more info about how this whole thing will work. Thanks for clarifying so far.

You are never "forced" into PVP. Here is information about the Outlaw system that I wrote on the locked discussion:

The way Outlaw Declaration works is this: One person uses the skill, thereby declaring themselves an Outlaw. Their name turns red and they get a blue ring around their feet. This player is flagged for PVP. They can PVP and be PVPed by ANYONE (other than their party/guild) as long as they are outside of a safe zone (towns, cities, dungeon entrances, etc). This means they can PVP who are NOT flagged as Outlaws. Only one person needs to be flagged as Outlaw for PVP to happen.

In another scenario, if there are two players who are on a PVP server, and neither of them are declared as Outlaws, they CANNOT PVP each other until one or both of them declares Outlaw.

What you described is how all PVP servers currently work (LoT, VoT, MT). The new server would work the same, except Outlaw Declaration would ONLY be allowed for level 65s. The way LoT, VoT and MT currently work is that Outlaw is available from Level 11, and this means that level 65s can PK players that are lower level than them. This new system would prevent that, as it locks Outlaw and PVP to only level 65.

I hope this helps Highwatch players who do not understand how Outlaw works. I know there were 2 Highwatch players who came to LoT earlier today that did not know how it worked. For Highwatch players who are concerned about not wanting to experience PVP: You will not be forced to experience PVP with this new server. Changing channels is a very good way to avoid running into random Outlaws (they will almost always stay on CH1). You cannot PVP on Island of Dawn, at dungeon entrances, in towns, cities, etc. One thing to understand is Pacifist guilds do not exist on PVP servers. All guilds are automatically declared "ready for battle" and this tag cannot be changed. However, with the new GvG raid system, open world GvGs will be removed. So this will NOT affect you as players.

You can avoid PVP very easily if you are that against it.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this insightful and detailed comment. Really, thank you so much for clarifying, I'm very relieved to hear this. And this actually sounds like a very neat implementation, looking forward to how this looks.
