I'm originally from AV, but I took a walk around MT and TR and I have some considerations to do.
If you just wander around you will not see any difference in population, but AV has more active LFG, while TR and MT have more active trades(or at least more stuff on broker to sell). Prices on TR per example are much lower.

OBS: In fact, because I don't have a lvl 65 on MT I can't see how LFG really is on this server.

ABHM, DFHM, and WH give no rewards. ABHM and DFHM were only ever done for crusade, which most of them just go with their guild, and people only did WH to get SF materials which most people no longer need. People mostly do MM/SSHM/DSL/DSU/DFNM (and SSNM for those who can't SSHM) because those are the only instances people find worth doing. Remember, most people can't do all the instances due to limited time, so they'll just run what ever is actually rewarding, because people don't run a dungeon if it gives them nothing.

It has nutin to do w/ git gud I'm just trying to understand the server.
    • One thread says TR will teach you and gear requirement not that strict.
    • This thread says TR ppl are very Elitist and only run with statics.
    • Other threads say LFG in AV dead and only the top guild does endgame
    • Here ppl saying AV more welcoming.

Hence the confusion for any newcomer like me.
Regardless I decided to stay on TR since too lazy to lvl up a character/ deal with RNG grind

TR is the most populated PVE server. While it seem dead, you have to realize that Ascension Valley is even worse. I've been playing on AV since F2P (we've probably run something together at one time) and TR since Spring 2015, and I can guarantee that TR offers a better experience, regardless of whether you're starting out or you're an experienced player. Ascension Valley has a very small population that can even run anything resembling end-game, as the decent players have already transferred to either TR or MT. It's pretty much next on the chopping block after this HW/LoT/VoT merge, which is why they're trying to encourage people to move to AV at the moment with the free transfers. TR may seem dead, but it's just that Tera as a whole is losing population.

it's not insecure or salty to think thst fellow guildees would say "hi" when I log in and greet them. I ask for guild runs, and *crickets*. I am a skilled player with +15 full starfall and I keep joining guilds that are full of elitist snobs who only want to run with their statics. why bother being in a guild?

I'm smiling because this is exactly what I experienced. I suggest something new. Tera is an old game and with an ageing community. It's not going to get better. The problems you have seen will be here in the future, as they were in the past.

But I am "from the past" and was on the "AV server".
    Experience is extraordinarily different indeed.

I mean I knew Tera lacked content in general, but I didn't know endgame would be reduced to just farming 2 dungeons a day.
That is a dramatic change from the days when devs created weak albeit good incentives to farm fodder dungeons like KN10 or if lucky KN20

Very different game and less people playing as another guy said.
  • If you'rer confused, find out for yourself. Asking here will only consider you more.

TR has some of the highest skilled players in PVE. Most of the ppl who write guides are on the TR server. The population is great. Although I have only ever been on the HW server, so TR was a night and day difference. Come to TR to git gud :P

TR was a server with a bunch of skilled players, mostly because it had the Dragonfall players. Back then, Dragonfall was THE pve server. All the cool kids were there or wanted to be there. But now it seems that MT is the current cool kids club and even being pvp it has a fair amount of skilled pve players.

Still that doesn't mean TR is in bad shape. Economy seems good, broker seems stocked with plenty of stuff and areas still get many players on high traffic hours. Sure. Not being the first pick for new players, as in not being at the top of the list when people first join the game has hurt the influx of newbies. That will happen no matter what, and only setting TR up as the first pve server pick will see it getting more new players again.

and even the guilds on TR aren't welcoming, as they only run in their statics and ignore other guildees. Maybe I need to transfer to AV.

Stop looking for endgame-only guilds, then. The hardcore ones are all like that, but that goes for any endgame community in any game. I've been in several guilds in TR that weren't that way, and one that was. Being a little picky about your guild choice pays off sometimes.

@thread - Haven't been playing in a while, but last I was on, TR did look a bit scarce. Does that mean the server has low population, or that it's dying? No. It means we're in a dead zone right now with patches and no one wants to play. It happens every content patch, nothing new, just this time there's been such little (meaningful) content lately that it's probably worse than it has been in the past - we've been on our current gear sets for quite a while, and we won't get new ones for another 3 months or more.

Solo dungeons really aren't worth logging in for, and DSL/DSU is pretty stale at this point since they don't even bother to change it up any every time it's "revamped", so EME's been throwing a bunch of events at us in the hopes of keeping some people occupied. Obviously isn't working much, like it never does. And it's likely not TR-specific; I'd suspect every server's seen a decline in population in the past couple of months.

I thought some1 said NA Tera was on a 3 month schedule or like we 1-2 months behind.

So NA Tera is still on a 6 month schedule like how it used to be?
    If so trolololol no wonder
  • The only thing you need to know about TR is most of it's players are trolls/looneys/pve elitists.

Just kidding about the loonies and elitists. Honestly TR isn't so bad. But there's times I want to pick up my keyboard and smash the chat with it.
