Is my class dead?
I'm an old Zerk main from a few years back who wanted to try something new, so i decided to play tank warrior. I am getting people that are telling me i'm wasting my time and honestly i'd just like to know if they are right or not. I'm pretty darn good at holding aggro so i dont see the issue but i dont want to reach 65 and then have no one wanting to pick me because of my class

But nowadays it's more than just holding aggro since the aggro revamp. Tanks are based on positioning, holding aggro and most importantly doing dps as well. Warriors can still tank but are not preferred in most runs because the lack of party buffs. Damage wise I'm not sure how high warriors can do when they are in d-stance but from one vid I seen, I didn't really see warrior doing much dmg as tank but did good keeping aggro.
Lancer has party buffs and does way more dps than warrior tank. Brawler on the other hand can out dps lancer in raw damage. I don't think warrior is dead. Tanking wise is not preferred but as a dps it's very viable. I think for warrior it depends on how the person learns the class just like any other class. No class is dead; you enjoy the class you play and prove people wrong by being good.
2. zerker tank don't have infuriate skill.
3. Brawler and Lancer party can clear dungeon faster than zerker and war tank team
4. Zerker and War tank basic dps is way too low. EX. solo with brawler/ lancer is a lot faster than zerk/ war tank.
5. war debuff endurance normally 12.5%. but, if there is an archer in party, then it becomes 4.5%. Lancer's
6. War's holding agro ability is garbage compare with another tank class.
Brawler will still be quite popular as a tank due to its easy to use combos.
I don't know why people keep saying It's Brawler's fault Warrior and Berserker tanks are not popular. Berserker has never even been a thing, not even when it was added. Only a handful of people ever tanked on the class, because simply put, it has little satisfaction when it comes to the majority. It was the same for Warrior. Majority of people preferred Lancer, and even now Lancer is still taken frequently despite how strong Brawler is. Simply but, you could delete Brawler and Lancer will just be taken 99% of the time. Why take Warrior or Berserker when not only does Lancer provide more group damage, but also deal far more damage themselves? Keep in mind, Lancer is being buffed utility wise (again) in the future while Berserker tanking gets nothing (again) and we don't know what changes Warrior tanking will get. Constant buffing of Lancer, and nerfing of Brawler does nothing to Warrior and Berserker tanking other than shift Brawler to second place and Lancer back to first place.
The way I remember it, is barely anyone were playing lancers because aggro was actually hard to keep before the brawler patch hit. So there was a bit tank deficit and people took tanks wherever they could find them, meaning they were far more apt to ask the zerk to tank or the warrior to tank. Like, I knew one GOOD lancer back then and that was it. And he was wanted by so many groups that getting him for a run was like Christmas. Finding people to tank was such a chore that when the "go berserk" patch came out, I actually made a berserker with the thought in mind of "I can dps when I want to, and tank when we can't find one" because that was how bad the tank situation was at the time.
In that context, when people say "brawlers killed warrior/zerk tanks," they mean that BHS effectively introduced a second primary tank class (whereas zerk and warriors had their dps aspects and were not primarily designed for tanking) that was easy to play, incredibly strong, and had the whole aggro system made easier with their coming, meaning more people were suddenly willing to give tanking a shot. Because of that, there was no longer a tank deficit or a need for the two non-primary tanks, since brawlers existed in abundance. Brawlers also outperformed every tank at the time. Zerk tanks were supposed to be the damage dealing tanks; brawler did it better. Warrior tanks at least had a leash and an infuriate, which gave them something zerk tanks didn't have, but brawlers had crowd control skills for days and an infuriate and the ability to out-dps every dps player on the team. Lancers were in a bad place back then, too. The lancer I mentioned earlier nearly quit over how unfair brawler was in terms of its ability to dps and tank at the same time. It was pants on head insane, the way brawler's imbalance ruined the game for so many people.
Tera used to be fun cause on the dungeon design is pretty balance for all class.
Then since ABHM there some imbalance dungeons release time to time that unfriendly to some class.
People start picky on the class they can have on their group to have a smooth/easy run.
Do those dungeon really impossible for those class? - NO
Do those class are not worth to play now? - NO
It all depend on the player
I play what I want - not the game or other player pick for me
There will be group take you since there people play for fun.
Human memory is flawed (it's not consistent, as it's entirely edited by not ourselves but external influences like a wiki page) and it changes to fit what we would like it to. With absolutely no effort you can find topics pertaining to Lancer vs Warrior tanking from years ago for both NA and Eu Tera. Since you brought up aggro problems, I'm going to assume you're talking about the majority and not the top single digit %, in which case, the average person could not even tank as a Warrior. Never mind tanking as a Warrior, most can't dps with it despite it being one of the best dps classes at the moment. It had generally been agreed that Warrior tanking took a lot of practice to use efficiently, even during instances where a Warrior would have been considered really good to tank with the average group still took a Lancer because well... the average tank was a Lancer.
Also, don't mistake what you did for what others did (projecting). I also tanked as a Berserker, since I mained Berserker as a dps before the patch. Although the average tank did not bother with Berserker, as the class is seen as dull as a dps, and even more so as a tank. Berserker for the last ~2 years has been played by mostly dedicated Berserker mains. Even when a Berserker tank group held a high score, Lancer still dominated when it came to the average player base for choice of tank.
You also failed to completely address the fact that even if Brawler gets nerfed into the ground it does nothing to change the effectiveness, or even perceived effectiveness, of Berserker and Warrior tanking because Lancer would just go back to dominating the market. Remove Brawler and everyone just goes back to complaining about Lancer being too good.
before brawler i saw a lot berserker tank, more often than lancer tank in my run
and before berserker 25% of tank in our group was warrior
when the brawler was released 90% of our tank was brawler, now i think 75% of our tank are brawler
I saw tons of lancers/ warrior tanks on AV. For me, I did zerk/lancer/warrior tanking, at the time of the SCHM-AIHM patch, I honestly found it easier to play a tank or a healer than a DPS. It was so much easier for me to do and it got to the point where I just found it easier to play 3 tanks and 6 healers.
Of course people are gonna tell you why not play <a better char> instead of <your char>. I've always thought that "why are you playing <a dps that's not ninja> instead of ninja" lol.
I know it's a horrible comparison but I favor seeing people play what they like/prefer.
