| -- Crafting Questions -- |

Hello!
I have some questions about the crafting system currently.
The only things I've crafted are colluva/dread ingots, along with starfall gloves & a tensus chest piece back in the day.

Crafting those things didn’t require any level of crafting in armor/weapons.
How relevant is getting crafting up to artisan level? I don’t know too much about crafting but my boyfriend has started to get into leveling his up and I’m not sure what it’s usable for.

What is worth crafting in each category that would require artisan level crafting?
1. Weapon
2. Armor
3. Etching
I’ve heard alchemy is a bit obsolete right now, too.

Thank you!!

  • With Artisan armor crafting you can craft ( Aterstod Oils - Brooch mats - gears like slaughter )

Etching >> worth being Master .

weapon and armor crafting are pretty much usless these days, but if you want to craft superior brooch, you must have master in those, depending of design you have. etching is still worth doing, since you can easily farm mats for it. though, lvl III etchings require master as well. if you decide to go for etching master, make sure that some alt of yours had artisan in armorcrafting because prices of aterstod are pure robbery, it's better to craft them yourself. about alchemy, you're right, it's kinda useless now, but you never know what changes might come in future. when renegade was made, for retooling defiance you needed 300 hijka oils, which is crafted by alchemist. so if you have enough alts go for all 4 professions.

    Oh alright.
Is it necessary for crafting imperator too? Or is that able to be crafted with no crafting skill?

Also, are you saying that artisan crafting in etching is the only thing currently worth it? Or also armor for brooches, and only those 2?

You don't need any skill for crafting VM, you just need mats and have the designs learned.

You need master craft er in weapon or armor craft to make brooches, you need artisan for tier 2 and master for tier 3 etchings. Alchemy just get artisan so you can craft waring scrolls

Aren't the crit scrolls the only ones worth it atm? And theyre from elite/merchs

The crit scroll recipe is a rare drop, and not worth using your pure cobala ore on. The warding scrolls will always be a good thing to carry around, and you get the design from a merchant

In both armor craft and weapon craft, it is currently worth to craft quatrefoil brooch materials, and then sell them. Is also good to make colluva ingots for later sale if you do not plan to craft imperator gear. Oils are not as needed anymore tho, but they still make some income

Etching is currently the most profitable proficiency, but it can be very expensive. It is also tied to a lot of RNG.
  • just to recap

    1. Weapon
all of the following are used to make brooches:

    spellcatch bijou
    ostatak oil
    quatrefoil base
    goddess's gemstone
pure goblusilex (used to make spellcatch bijou & quatrefoil base)
pure cobala ingot (used to make spellcatch bijou & quatrefoil base)

    brooches in question:
    empowered
    carving
    quatrefoil

    2. Armor
all of the following are used to make brooches (same as above):

    spellcatch bijou
    quatrefoil base
    goddess's gemstone
    pure cobala ingot
fine pilka silk (used to make spellcatch bijou & quatrefoil base)

    with the exception of:
    aterstod oil (used for etching)

    3. Etching
the following are used to make components for etches:
    titan's fire
    titan's peace
    white dendrite
    weapon/armor/glove/footwear etchings

    with the exception of:
    marabca oil (used for alchemy)

the ideal thing to hit master on for your main character is etching, this is because at artisan level you can make simple tier 1 etchings and crit (30-40% of the time i think?) for white dendrite, which is a basic material for tier 2 etchings, but sells for a fair price (currently ~3.5k on MT)

usually you level alternate accounts (character has to be level 65) to have separate production points (PP) and to master armorsmith/weaponsmith for refining pure/fine materials (see above), scarab powder (used in etching, but is a basic design so any profession can refine), or said brooches

totally up to you tho, but in order i would personally do etching > armorsmith > weaponsmith

I think they will kill all crafting system, alchemy is obsolete as you said, because incoming UI revamp, removing stamina, and changing the Heaven's Elixir power to Noctenium, Armor and Weapon only for brooch and items that are required to craft brooch (a better brooch will drop in 30 Man dungeon coming soon), etching eventually will die too once they put Etching III on Ace Dungeon merchant, we already have etching II there and another question that comes to my mind is to craft etching III you will need a lot of gold and i think that etching master is by far the worst RNG on Tera is so critical dependent, no critical on crafting bye bye gold.

So if i start play Tera now, with the knowledge that i have (Master in all craftings) i wouldn't raise any category. That's my opinion.

Confimed etching will die with Superior Etching Box (Etching IV) droped from 30 Man raid 3º stage
