Just came back and why is the new gear so [filtered]?

So, I just came back from a 6 month hiatus, and decided to upgrade my Mystic's gear... and why exactly is Slaughter gear so bad? When comparing it to my old Dreadnaught gear, it seems like a downgrade rather than an upgrade, my boots lost the MP regain line, my gloves lost the Improve Healing AND Endurance lines... Should I just stick with Dreadnaught?

Also, no healing jewelry? WTF?

  • Slaughter is actually a massive improvement over Dreadnaught, in both pictures your slaughter gear you are comparing isn't even +12 yet.
  • I know it's not +12, but I'm not talking about the actual defense values, I'm talking about non-rerollable lines above the gray line

    Slaughter has all the old lines combined. Basically all the old lines are there, just combined to save space.

    I don't see any improve healing or endurance lines in the Slaughter Gloves. They seem to havee been made for DPS only, but I'm a healer.


    For Slaughter gear,

    Boots can roll for 2% MP every 5 second instead of the usual 1%.

    Gloves can roll for 12 endurance instead of the usual 4. Healing can roll for 6% instead of the usual 3%. Just look at the list of rollable option to see for yourself when you use an enigmatic scroll.

    The devs are trying to make it less wordy and less rollable as possible to make it cleaner while buffing the rollable options that way.

    As for no healing jewelry, they honestly heal enough. At least you are not a tank or dps where you need every new jewelry and spend thousands of semi enigmatic scrolls getting the perfect rolls. Healers can save gold.

    You'll lose some lines, but slaughter is better than DN overall.
  • LOL did you check that your dreadnaught gloves has in the rollable stat 3% healing masterworked while your slaughter is 4.5% not even mw?

    They just blend the stats into one rerollable, same with mana replenishment.

    Related to heal jewelry, yeah, that's gone but if i am not mistaken slaughter weap has a really high base healing value compared to dreadnaught. Not sure what healers do this patch with jewelry but isn't new that healers have had to always deal with old jewelry farming cuz current one sucks or isn't better than some old sets.

    My mystic is in full slaughter aside from gloves. I use it in dungeons like sshm and dsu so I needed to upgrade at least my chest, but still haven't bothered upgrading gloves.

    As for healing jewelry, @Bernkassyel, I use the Argosy set still on my priest, but I'm sure healers (mainly mystics) could use the crit jewelry.

    Tool a look at it, Slaughter really does have higher max rolls, but the gloves lose the +10, +11 and +12 increase healing lines. Kinda sucks. They replaced it with Power... could at least have made it Crit :(

    I'm a mystic and I'm currently using 3 pieces of the Shadowvain set and 2 pieces of the Argosy set with my accessories rolled for crit. It works just fine for me since I crit more often and can reach up to 85k on my Titanic Favor (I'm full +15 though)

    BHS is adding rollable healing stats on jewelry.

    You are correct about the new Gloves for healers. The best is still Starfall gloves for the healing lines. Slaughter and even VM7/Imp are missing the healing on +10/+11/+12. Most healers are still running Starfall.

    Personally, I did Slaughter staff, Slaughter belt. Then Starfall chest/gloves/boots. Did the Argosy set until saved enough to get Shademaze(crit). Apparently crit healing is becoming a thing.

    The loss of healing lines on +10 to +12 is very negligible IMO, especially when Slaughter +12 weapons heal amounts comparable to a Starfall +15. In exchange you gain a lot of endurance. If you don't care for the extra tankiness on gloves, yeah, you can use Dread or Starfall for more healing (which I do on my Priest), but Slaughter is not bad gear, at all, for any class.
