  • Why the heck you would need to farm with multiple chars in the first place?

Why can't I play 1 char and get my desired farming needs from endgame?
Because if just playing on one character allowed you to farm that efficiently, people who actually did farm on multiple characters (whether legitimately or through botting) would have an insurmountable advantage. And besides, EME's F2P business model is based on people creating more characters (since more characters means more character slots and, potentially, more costumes for each character, etc.). This is also partly why they keep creating new classes.

Valid points indeed, but for me having tons of chars to farm stuff is just mind blowingly [filtered].

Well, for me, I think the farming itself is the boring part. Even in other games where you're encouraged to just have one character do everything, I find myself creating alts for the variety. I guess it just depends on your preferences/personality.

I'm more of a one char guy, although in TERA, gearing isn't so hard, so I have 2 max geared chars.

About feedstock, harder the instance, more FS you get, I guess that could be determined by itemslevel needed for the instance. This would push more people doing endgame stuff.
  • I will not agree with 1 thing you said,
drop weekend affected feedstock actually as well, i ended up with about 130-150 tier 9 feed with the VG reward ofc, where i usually ended with less,
but feedstock is and issue and we need a fix,
for VM gear you need 2 times more feed then mwa : 2k feed to awaken 1k mwa, 200 for 1 try 100 mwa, BUT NOW I FARM MWA 2 TIMES FASTER THEN FEED, by the time i farmed 10k mwa i had also 10k feed and we need 20k feed to make it even on our awakened enchanting
  • I know I am repeating myself, but the raw materials are insufficient for a player that can play a few hours due to work commitments, school or life.
If this is the situation now is a p2w game or for those without a job or social life.
And then from qundo we were not given the talent serves a VM to make andgame and do not tell me that technically you can do that are bales since you write that you have a VM, and DSUP SSHM unless you have a VM you can forget the.
Then it would be nice that you rinconpensassero with goldfinger in order to ongni dungeon I would not raid a dungeon making strate those few hours to kill bam in just suck it

Maybe MMOs aren't games for them then.

VM+15 gear isn't for everyone. If you can't commit to it just stick with midtier/vm+12

I made just about a million gold off of this recent triple drop event just from running dreadspire uppers and selling designs/innerwear/gems with my party. All it takes is an hour of our time to do the dungeon and we are rewarded because we took our practice beyond the average player. Not everyone who has +15 gear swipes their credit card.

These people want BiS gear handed to them just because they can't play as much as other people...

I'm lazy to quote several posts but I'm going to quote these two in particular:
Why the heck you would need to farm with multiple chars in the first place?

Why can't I play 1 char and get my desired farming needs from endgame?

Instead we need to make tons of chars and farm some low end crap to fulfill our time and farming needs...

I'm getting tired of seeing posts saying that there's not enough of Feedstock or MWA etc. I'm really curious how much dedication and effort people put in to earn them.

Raw materials are more than sufficient. You really don't know how bad it is in KTERA. They have it much worse, and it took me almost 2 weeks to gear +12 slaughter, and that's only because I got lucky with same gear enchantments. It'd only take like 2 days in NA to farm and gear from scratch.

If you think you have room for complaints, listen to my story.

For the past 3 months I worked as tutor mon~thurs at 7am ~12pm or so depending on how well the kid finished his assignment
I work friday as a math and science teacher at an afterschool program 7am ~ 12pm
    I'm a robotics teacher on Saturdays 9am ~ 3pm
I also have church to attend to on sundays as my family is religious and I'm pretty much forced to go from 7am ~ 4pm. I'm lucky that they let me only attend on sunday mornings and afternoons instead of almost every night with entire sunday .

After work and church, I have to prepare study materials for kids I tutor and teach, plan out next activity for robotics class, design a scientific experiment, and search KTERA forum for any good info I can translate such as patch notes, GM note, or Developer's note. While I seem like I play literally all day when you see me in game, I'm always working on something else on my second monitor when I afk.

It depends on the day but earliest time I can get online is around 2pm and I'm off anywhere between 12am - 4am, sometimes I don't even sleep, and for the entire time I'm online, I'm probably afk nearly half the time to do what I should be doing IRL which is listed above.

Even with all that, I've achieved to have my main geared with +15 imperator weapon, +12 imperator chest and glove, +12 conflate boots, with 4 alts geared in full slaughter. Every day during those 3 months I farmed Vanguard with at least 3~5 characters per day: Lancer, Priest, Ninja, Berserker, and Brawler, whether it's IoD, IMS, guild runs, friend calling, etc. This isn't all. I have 12 characters in total, one of each class and I play all of them. I just play the 5 classes mentioned earlier more often as I've learned how to play them better and have gotten used to them. The other 7 -- Mystic, Warrior, Slayer, Sorcerer, Archer, Gunner, and Reaper -- are geared in at least +12 Dreadnaught, and some of them have one or two +12 Slaughter piece. All of my characters have complete glyph page as well, along with proper jewelries and crystals. With 12 characters, I'm basically able to gain 3~12x amount of rewards I can receive, especially something as easy as Celestial Arena, Castle Aranea daily, some IoD BAM, Solo dungeon for perma T2 etchings, weekly vanguard rewards, etc. I can benefit myself through several methods of farming.

After all these hard work farming feedstock, spellbinds, MES, MW/ Prem/ Ext alks and making gold by selling stuff, especially T2 etchings, I was able to buy Imperator Weapon design. My guildies were kind enough to fund me Imperator Chest and glove designs as well as a good friend of mine gave me Conflate boots design. I asked them for help in running dungeons to farm Imperator mats, and I farmed more gold to buy Contargentine/Flataurum Nodes, checking broker almost everyday for their prices. Colluva ore/ingots were either farmed, borrowed (then paid back later), or bought from broker when I checked for them. It took me 3 months, which is pretty long, but I did it in the end.

It's all about how much you are dedicated to invest your time into seriously play the game, and how you are using it. I can tell you I'm terrible player, pretty much casual myself tbh. I push myself to learn how to play the classes more efficiently, checking my performance, recording some of my runs to watch later and see where I can actually improve. I don't simply farm mindlessly-- I'm always testing myself if I can breakthrough whatever limits I may have.

While it may seem a lot of work and boring, to me it was helluva ride as I've learned more about other classes, their roles, some of their problems, etc. If you truly want to enjoy the game, you have to see it from multiple point of views. It's fine that you prefer to play a single character or don't want to farm like I did, but the essence of an RPG is to explore new things.

Some may wonder, why am I putting my life into this to this extent, it's because I love the game so much. Despite all the disappointments I see whether it's BHS's poor decisions or cancerous player base, this is the game I want to dedicate myself into because I've never enjoyed playing a game as much as TERA.

Yes I have VM +15 gear on two of my characters. I make gold to buy feedstock from other players. I'm smart with my time by running end game content and I reward those with more time on their hands to farm feedstock for me. The better you get at the game the more the gold flows to you.

What you guys that are having trouble with and need to understand is, if you are far into a VM gear patch without much resources to enchant with, you're going to have a bad time if you start on that current gear. It's best to wait until, for example, tier 10 feed to become the equivalent to tier 9 feedstock in rarity before even attempting to catch up. Low feedstock and design prices = good for you. After you've saved up resources from previous patch and prices have dropped you should have little trouble enchanting to +15 and from there everything gets much simpler provided you have the skill to tackle end game content reliably.

I take it as most NA players are actually quite lazy- they'd like to be able to spend more time afk (tabbed out browsing porn or whatever) than actually playing the game. I've created new characters on new servers, no resources except elite- hit 65 in under a day, geared up into slaughter by the end of the second day, usually with about 20k gold or so from farming dungeons as I level and selling the excess gear. While this is the standpoint of an exceptionally experienced player, it is not at all difficult to ask questions in area chat, to read forums/guides/whatever, to simply be -active- in the game and putting in some effort instead of complaining about how everything is too hard. Spend an hour a day just running IoD, it can be boring and frustrating at times (especially for some classes) but the more you do it, the easier and faster it gets as you learn patterns and timing. The first step is always the hardest.

If you think you have room for complaints, listen to my story.

    -snip-

Similarly, when I first started playing I was working 12 hours a day every day for 9 days, followed by 5 days off. By the end of the WHHM patch I had managed to accumulate over 300 clears across multiple characters, with my Lancer in full VM2 and each of the other 7 original classes having a VM2 weapon and WH chest/gloves/boots. It just comes down to using what time you have effectively.

Also, props for still having the energy for doing the translating work. I know it wore on Espei to have so many people reliant on you for information, I hope it doesn't end up impacting your life as well.

there is no emergency. If you've been consistently playing this game (even casually) for the past few months, you would have definitely accumulated enough feedstock/alks to make your vm7 items once you've gotten your design this past weekend.
