How social is TERA?

Hi, hi well i joined TERA yesterday and i feel really lost, because first the ui was kind of confusing, also some icons appear to be shady aand after some time it began to look colored, and when i was creating my character, i put a outfit and then it changed after, but that does not concer me to much because armor changes styles anyways.
Also some questions, does this game have auction system, like leave a npc sell some items? or how does one get weapons better armor?
How does one join a guild, there is requirements for it?
PvP have any relevance in character development?

  • Hi there,

    1. There is a trade broker for auction house purposes
    2. As new player you can get avatar weapons by collecting it in game. You get new pieces every few levels and your last weapon is available at level 64. You can them farm end game dungeons for your low tier/mid tier end have great.

For armor, you collect pieces from dungeons or quests until level 64. A few level 65 quests give you starter end game gear, but you have to farm for better ones.

    3. Press G in game to use the guild finder. Some guilds have requirements, some don't.

    4. Nope

This is not true. PvP, Particularly Battelgrounds do contribute towards character progression. There is the Kumas battleground that is available at 20, which DOES give Exp, as well as credits which help you buy endgame-pvp gear.

that bit in character creation is just to show off some of the armor that your race/class has

Levelling can be said to not be character progression anymore lol. Also Kumas is KvK, not PvP

last time i check other kuma are controlled by players and the goal is kill or hurt opponant mama controlled by player and sometime babies kuma can kill each other, so it is pvp :)
  • Thanks for the responses, also does TERA have things like field bosses or raids?

If you are referring to Open World Bosses yes and no. The yes part is they do but they are on a very long CD (3 day) and you can solo them. Also some times En Masse will come into the game and create events where they spawn Open World Bosses. The no part is if you are looking for an Open World Boss that needs a raid to kill then no.

As a followup to what Aulon already posted, there are "raid" dungeons. The quality of the raid itself is debatable as the maximum raid size is 20 but these dungeons only go up to 7 and 10 members.

In the past they had a dungeon called KNXX which was a 20-man raid, but it has been removed for a few years now.

In the future they are adding a 30-man raid dungeon which I think is more of what you are looking for.
  • What server are you playing on?
You can customize the UI system to suite your needs.

You can always chat in the game and ask others for help - Most are cool but you will run into the occasional troll.

Overall I feel the community in general is fairly strong, maybe not compared to the days of old as some might say but I have not had any issues finding help when needed.
