New players / leveling players pvp gripes

1.) World pvp while leveling anyhwere outside lumbertown is dead. There are no people leveling new classes in this game and the overworld looks empty as a result.

2.) kumas royale is the only pvp instance leveling and new players have until level 65. There are major issues with this, first of all, it teaches new players / leveling players nothing about pvp or how to use their class mechanics in relation to the skills/abilities of other classes. Second, it is the lowest form of PvP in any MMO i've seen. You might not be a fan of equalized gear in battlegrounds, well guess what, everyone in kumas royale is made exactly the same.

3.) Upon reaching level cap you can do Corsairs Stronghold or Fraywind Canyon, except doing fraywind canyon is [filtered] because of the massive differences in gear between you and anyone else, making you completely useless and a detriment to your team. World pvp at level cap has this issue as well, any disparity in item level is too great to overcome for most classes, if you have the lower gear score, you're a free kill. Corsairs Stronghold has equalized gear is a good introduction to PvP, but grinding it endlessly until you can do one other battleground is boring and insane.

    1. Most people rush through leveling (typically dungeon/kuma spam) so they can get to endgame. That's why you don't see them much in open-world.

    2. Yep

    3. Pretty much

Tera can be a lot of fun when you have gear/experience. Before that it's kinda rough. I've been there, I know.
  • Also, kumas existence hurts the queue of CS.

    #removekuma
  • They need to get rid of Kumas al together. Nice idea but trash in practice.

Restore CS to its former 30-65 player pool. The problem with CS back then overall is now currently rife in fraywind. Traps/Trolls/ people simply unwilling to learn.

PvP in Tera has been stagnant for a while. Though on occasion you can have extremely close games and those are the best usually. Ahhh memories. 30 minute CS was pretty damn fun. Rough but fun.

They haven't tried level brackets for BGs yet.
    We should try that.

Only issue I can see is not enough people in a bracket to pop a game.

Bring in multi BG queues. @EME - Let us queue for multiple BGs at once.
  • aeee98aeee98 ✭✭✭✭
I have to admit it is because the average PvE community (which makes up 75% of NA tera) are only doing BGs for the daily, and they leave if there is "no point if they can't win".

Reward driven attitude is good if done positively, sadly most of the time it goes the complete opposite direction. You can't really fix that because most games get that.

Any of these "fixes" would result in queues being dead.

There's a reason equalized gear exists. It didn't use to exist, and it made BGs suck. Not only because queues never popped once populations declined, but it also was hell for someone who was new and trying to do BGs for gear.

Just fix the matchmaking system and most of that stuff wouldn't be such a big deal.
  • Equalised gear isn't equal when u get 1 shoted with pvp crystals on by a reaper in 15 gear and insane dps.
Kumasylum isnt much better if your unlucky and get bad team players going yolo with the Moma Kuma .
    THE GRIND IS REAL.

If you aren't in PvP crystals then why are you doing PvP?

Heck basic PvP crystals are so easy to get and just by having these crystals (especially blues) you don't instantly get oneshot. (And if you are being killed because of a double combo you will die even if you are geared anyway).

PS: I have tried EQ gear before, only issue is damage output, because if you are hit by the combo you will die either way.

Also accept that there is victory and defeat. Crusade is over, rankings don't matter, just get better in your gameplay and continue with life.

    Anyways:

Remove Nocts out of all BGs, it was less of a stompfest when there weren't nocts.

PvP should not be a "daily and get over with" thing. Put an incentive to improving by encouraging multiple wins. Make the daily box drop more things but you need 3 wins instead of 1. I probably said this since November last year.

Make conflate slightly easier to get. It is affordable now as compared to VM materials.

Punish AFKers harder, give a 24 hour stat debuff if afk for multiple games in a row as well as a reward penalty on the next game.

Carrot-and-stick strategies always work in Tera, but you need the stick to hurt more in order for the game to be truly fair.

More and more people from the PvP community are just tired with PvE players entering with PvE crystals (or even rubbish crystals that you shouldn't bring into PvE), trying to teach but people don't learn.

  • -CS q pops lol
    -1hr n counting bruh
-fwc is zergfest and 10m wait
-in all honesty pvp ded and not enough do it.
-Accidentally did a q for csr thinking it was CS wait was over an hr long

    GG
  • 3s is fun but requires actual skill.

FWC is zerg vs zerg oh wait most people these days go in wearing paper GG.

Fraywindbis nice sometimes when the game is close.

Why do people que into Kumas if they're already at the level cap?

I only use Kumas to lv up my guys, besides that you don't get anywhere near as many Killing Spree and Bellicarium credits combined as FWC.

If you get 1 win for alts I'm FWC, then you're still getting a good amount of KS credits as well.

On Average 1 win + dailies = 6k BC credits & 9K KS credits + a reward chest with a chance to have at leat around 4-14 colluva ores.

If you're trying to get pvp credits I suggest you don't binge grind it as one character, as you're spending way more time to get much less credits than if you were to just do it for the dailies as all of your alts and wrap it up for the day.

Just get one win as your alts and don't que in as that alt for the rest of the day.

I can do the math to grind 80k killing spree and 80k BC at a 50/50 win rate as one character as opposed to just doing dailies as your alts. This is objective as dailies can be exposed to the same condition as binge grinding which is that excessive losses or wins can throw off the efficiency or boost one method or the other.

At the very least you should know:
    Loss = 3k BC, 1.5K KS
    Win = 6K BC, 3k KS
One loss and win =one game set.

Each game lasts an average of 11.5 minutes.

Losses don't count towards the completion of dailies, so with a 50/50 win rate an extra game has to be accounted for to get the win if this is the case.

FWC dailies equal 6k KS credits with Elite status and 3k without.

    Calculations for Dailies Method -

Dailies route if you have 2 alts, this is how much time you should expect to spend with a 50/50 rate:

80K BC = 9k BC per alt with a win and loss * 9 daily games sets, which would leave you with 1k extra BC credits. The 9th set counts as a full set as you wouldn't be able to get the credits without finishing your match.

80K KS = 10.5 KS per alt with a win, loss, and daily quest condtions completed * 8 daily games sets, which leaves you with 2k extra KS credits.

    Dailies Method:
18 games x 11.5 minutes = 207 minutes spent to get 80k BC in FWC dispersed between your alts.

16 games x 11.5 minutes = 184 minutes spent to get 80k BC in FWC dispersed between your alts.

The time spent to get these aren't separated as you get both no matter what. So, you should expect to spend at least 207 minutes for the dailies method as the condition was to get at least 80k of both credits and it takes 1 game longer to get at least 80k BC credits than KS.

    Binge Method Calculations -

If this was to be done in day, then this is what you should at least expect.

    - A 50/50 rate for one game set

    - Dailies can only stack up once, since it's binging.

    - Only 1 rewards chest for the day.

    Binge Method
80K BC = same amount of time as dailies method as dailies don't count towards the advancement of BC credits.

80K KS = 4.5k KS per game set *(16 game sets)+ 1 daily quest + 1 win. This will leave you with 1k more KS credits.

If you binge Killing Spree: 33 games x 11.5 minutes = 379.5 minutes spent to get 80k BC in FWC dispersed between your alts.

If you're grinding both simultaneously, then going with the binging method will more than double the amount of grinding time needed to meet both 80k credit conditions.

You'll also get way less reward chest which has some potentially op rewards.

If you go with the dailies method you'll get 9 of them, which can net you around 36-126 colluva ores.

With the binging method, you'll only be able to get 4-14 colluva ores.
  • whats up with Tera and essays, this isn't politics its a game.
If you stated that FWC farming > Kuma you are wrong:

-The time it takes to q for Kuma vs FWC
    -w/l
-Time allotted for each gaming session (1hr)

End up with way more credits by farming Kuma all day instead of FWC. Conveniently, you left out q times in your calculation to justify your explanation ergo weak point. Also failed to include realistic time restrictions and how many games you could fit into 1hr.

Kuma is active 24/7 aka 2-5m wait. As for FWC, during peak hrs its not uncommon to wait 10-15m for a q to pop. During dead hrs wait time can go up to >40m.
