Steam and Tera what happened?

OK so i used to play Tera alot then i went on to do other things i decided to come back and play it and i used the steam version on the client but went to launch it i get errors and uninstalled on steam to try downloading it again but its no longer on steam. When i try to download it from the Tera site i got the direct download and it says it going to take 12 hours to download and i have a 200mb connection.

So really what i want to know is WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?

anyone can answer this that would be great.

    What country are you from?

    Gameforge, European Tera Publisher, made it so that players from certain countries don't have access to Tera NA via Steam, in order to get those players to choose Tera EU instead. But as you already did, it's quite easy to bypass this

    Basically gameforge (tera EU) complained that steam did a tera download exclusively for NA, they won that fight many months ago and so its no longer possible through steam. Only way is through the website and perhaps you should just let it download, its alot of GB's after all.

    edit: as for the long download? i don't know, tera is known for poor optimization so most likely that, nothing you can do about that.

    true but i did spend some cash on my chars and if i cant access them anymore due to the tera steam fall out then ill be very (not allowed to say) off. but i love the combat system in tera so here's hoping i can get in to my account again.

    You can still get into your account, just use the same email adress for steam for the website to log in and everything is still there, your account isn't lost.

    If you live outside the US and want to download the steam version you can try the work around, just open IE or Chrome or whatever browser you want and paste one of these codes;
    steam://install/323370 or steam://run/323370 and that should force steam to download the game

    Another thing. Downloading through the launcher, click on the "tools" link at the button, and then set your download speed to Unlimited if it's not set to that already. Steam also has a download speed option that should also be set to unlimited if you want the max speed the server can give you from your location.
