Have Free Transfer From New Server to any Server
Honestly, it's pretty restrictive to only allow a free transfer from FeyForest to Ascension Valley. I think it should be a free transfer from FF to any of the other servers. I mean, come on, it's not our fault that a PvE and 2 PvP servers are merging, which basically messes up PvE players.
I have 14 characters on Highwatch and 9 on Ascension Valley. I do not PvP. I can't stand it. I should not have to delete characters that I worked hard on and paid real money for. My second account won't have this problem, but I'm not happy about the prospects of transferring, which will be a LOT of work to do on my main account.
There needs to be some sort of compromise here, and I think offering FREE transfers to any of the other PvE (or all) servers would go a long way to appease the players. For anyone with lots of characters, it's going to be very time-consuming, and a smoother process will really help.

Exactly.This is what will help the server grow as well.
The NEW server is going to be PvP at L65. I, and I'm sure many others, DO NOT want to be on a PvP server. Period. So, since some people, including me, have many characters on HW, giving a free transfer just to AV won't allow all my characters to MOVE.
I do not wish to delete characters, as they are L65 and I have spent real money and worked very hard to get them to where they are. I love my characters. I don't think I should have to delete some, just because it's free to move to only ONE server. I should be able to distribute my characters to TR and CH for FREE as well, so I don't have to delete them.
If someone comes up with "well, you can just pay to to move to another server" ..... well, this is something Enmasse is doing, so why should I, or anyone else, have to pay real money to move to another server that's not designated 'free transfer'?
It's just fine for PvP people, but it's penalizing PvE people who have to scramble to move not only their characters but all their gear, reagents, guilds, etc, plus making sure their 'names' are transferred as well. This is a huge undertaking for players. I have 14 characters I need to move, and I would like it to go as smooth as possible and not be hindered by restrictions.

Being able to server transfer to ANY Server defeats the purpose of the merge. You shouldn't have any problems with your characters during transfer. If you want to transfer to another server that isn't AV, I suggest you buy some EMP.
Yes, we do know what you were talking about. However, as responded in the first 3 posts, it would make the merge pointless. The rest of the posts were responding to what this person said, which seems a tad more reasonable to me:
1) AV is a PVE server. People from HW are the ones being most inconvenienced here. Opening up free transfers to all servers doesn't make since because a large portion of the new servers community would just move to MT, as it has the healthiest and largest end-game community. Similarly TR would be chosen for PVE players. The new server would be killed before it ever had a chance, just like when HW was opened; it killed several of the other servers like VoT and LoT.
2) AV can accommodate the new players without overpopulating the server. If they opened free transfers to TR, not only would a large amount of people transfer there because of its already establish community but it would add numbers to an already healthy community.
Additionally, you aren't being forced to delete any characters. You are choosing to delete them because of your ignorance and fear. You don't understand what PVP servers are like but you have this preconceived notion that they are bad places with people killing each other 24/7 at every possible location on the map and there is no where you can hide and be safe. Enmasse has given you options, if you don't like those options then that is YOUR choice and you will have to pay money for other options. Stop QQing!!

OP's problem is bigger because he wants to remove 14 characters from that server and the only server he wants them on already has 9. The new server will give 4 non tradeable character slot expansions he can use on the new server or on AV for free. But that still, if he uses them all on AV, will get his total limit there to 13. His other characters will have to stay in the new server or he has to pay to remove them from there to other servers.
It doesn't defeat the purpose of the merge. I should NOT have to pay to transfer characters that won't fit on AV, nor should I have to pay for additional character slots.
