Is there a way to disable the language filter on this forum?

It really pisses me the [filtered] off when I see these god damned [filtered] "[filtered]" censor replacements.

How can I change it? I checked my settings, but I didn't see anything.

b00b and erping are not big words B)
  • Ugh. Oh well. It's just terribly annoying, and quite strange given the sorts of things I've seen in area chat.

Tera is rated M and forums PG-13?

Cannot be disabled, and GM Spacecats is strongly against using bad words in this forum, even though many are still said in one way or another. So chances are there won't ever be an option to remove the filter.

Have you not seen the area chat? At times it's rated AO.

edit: Also, given the language filter on the forum, I would say it is actually PG.

I believe if the same people in charge of moderating the forums had the same power to moderate in game chat, they would. Indeed it makes no sense that one area is much more filtered than another, so I suppose it's more about what the NA people can do in game. Also, forum posts stay for much longer than area chat, which can stay around for only a few seconds or at most a full play session unless someone constantly takes pictures of it.

Yeah. I suppose I shouldn't bring attention to the language/[filtered]'ing content in-game. I may not approve of what is being said, but I sure as hell wouldn't stop them from saying it.

edit: Heh, found another work I can't use here. Also, the "[filtered]" makes that last sentence sound worse then it is.
  • Yes, you need to [filtered] [filtered] the [filtered] [filtered] [filtered], but whatever you do, don't [filtered] [filtered] the sideways [filtered] [filtered] [filtered] [filtered] or else you'll [filtered] your mom.

But no, you're stuck with the filter. Interestingly the filtered words show up on the main forum page if they're in forum post titles, and they're the most recent active thread. Slight oversight.
  • They should change BAMs to BFMs.
