UI problem

So I used to play Tera like a year ago. I stopped for a while then loaded up the game again today. Now I find there is this obnoxious and intrusive banner thing saying what events are active cluttering up my screen it shows up just above the chat box . Is there any way for me to remove that?

    What scale is your UI? Mine is set to 75, so it doesn't bother me, or, in your words, appear "obnoxious and intrusive." Most of the time I don't even notice it's flashing and updating with new events (like Battleground Power Hours or Mongo Hunting Event.)
