Costumes or special looking armor/weapons you can only get from doing dungeons or special quests

I like how in Runescape there are certain armor or weapons you can only get by completely long difficult quests or dungeons. When you're a low level player and you see people with such valuable loot you think wowww. In Tera like if someone looks cray you know they just spent money on it and otherwise they look pretty much just like you do, not much fancier or "decked out". There is not much visual representation of in game accomplishments. I think they should start making the high level dungeons and such give special looking armor and weapons or costumes that let people show off how far they've come in the game.

Also have quests where it's more story/puzzle driven, and longer where you explore lots of cool places and buildings that aren't just a bunch of scattered monsters in halls but more point and click adventure.

  • I feel it quite hard to agree.

TERA (At least NA TERA) its already quite elitist, and exclusive costumes would make it a profit thing instead a teaching thing. They used to sell Yana Dices when TSHM was the 'top' dungeon (SCHM was above it, I know that), they used to sell Demokron Plasmas and Krakatox Bones when Archtype was the highest VM, so I see no reason why they wouldn't sell the tokens/costumes/w.e. the dungeon would drop in order to give the costumes.

The best thing we could expect from that mechanic is that elder players teach newest players how to clear end game dungeons. It just WON'T happen. Every LFG you can see ask for "+15", "Skilled", "Experienced", "Reserved", so newest players have no chance to learn the whole dungeon, as they wipe on the very first boss on the IM/pug party they might join, and while Google and Youtube provide info enough to be aware what to expect, they give no experience at all for them to get used to mechanics. The best way to learn is practice.

So, that's my very own personal opinion about it, I hope its clear enough and get no missunderstandings.
    Greetings.

I don't understand, what's so bad about looking cool for completing challenges? Why does everything unique looking need to come from the cash shop?

People who aren't good enough to get the armor well too bad they need practice it's called competition.
  • What about farming fashion coupons?
  • He means an exclusive costume for clearing the highest current content on each patch, unlike Fashion Coupons that are aviable by farming BAMs on any area ~10Lvs your current level, wich makes FC's costumes aviable for everyone instead exclusive.

exactly, it would be cool to have it like runescape where you see someone with that "super special armor" that you can't get until you get strong enough to beat that certain dungeon, showing off stuff you bought for 10$ isn't as rewarding as showing off something you got from vanquishing the strongest monster or finishing the hardest quest.
