We need a Guild Name wipe

Just like we had a name wipe last year, a guild name wipe is needed. Wipe all guild names whose members / guild leader hasn't been active for over a year so players can actually actively use the names to make a guild using a name that's currently taken right now.

I submitted a ticket months ago asking a GM to free up a guild name that is taken and has like 5 members and they said to parcel the guild leader getting permission... how can I do that when the leader isn't active for a long time?

Just my opinion..

  • Yes I agree too many alt guilds with good names being used.

only against guild with nobody logged since at least one month

One month is too short of a period. Sometimes people take a break cause of exams or vacation or something. If GM hasn't logged on for a year or more, the name should be wiped or the guild automatically disbanded. Cause without a GM the guild dies.

when i mean nobody i include everyone, not only gm, so if a normal guildie log you cant remove this guild name
  • If EME allows the guilds with at least one member active to stay untouched, most of the people aware of the wipe will login just to keep their guilds untouched, even if they aren't actually playing, that would make the wipe pretty much useless.

If EME wipes the guild regarding the active users, but IF and only if the GM haven't been active for, lets say, 6 months, ANY active user may party up with guildies to create the guild again, and letting someone active to take guild's leadership.

in my server 99% of guilds dont have guildies logged since last 30 days

and anyway the guys who logged deserve to keep his name and his guild name, even if he is not the gm
  • well, use your imagination

    "Wipe.Paradise" ..... "Trap.Guild" "Handless.Dudes"

    many options B)
  • I don't agree, but say we do have one; ther's a few glaring issues.

How are the names going to be changed?

Disband the guild? Well, what about the items in the guild bank? Is it okay to remove people's items just because they haven't logged in for a long time? I've known plenty of people who've come back after 1-2 years of inactivity, so you are affecting people with this.

Change the guild? I'm not sure if this could be done a mass scale, but change it to what? Guild Name_1?

Why if just the GM hasn't logged in? What about people who like their guild even though it's dead? If one person is actively using the guild name because they like it, is it okay to take that away?

Personally, I think people should just be more creative. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to have super short, fancy guild names. Just gotta be more creative.
  • I agree with this sentiment, a GM that hasn't logged in for 12 months or a guild with NO activity for 12 months?

The guild could either be disbanded or renamed like the IGNs were so - "GuildName_1"

I prefer the rename, so they can still come back to their items with a withdraw-only function to banks?

With the new update that will be the case anyway O_O

You can't make everyone happy but i think the guild list definitely needs a cleanup.

When you search, there are GM's that have the underscored names.... so they haven't been on for a very long time :chuffed:

I'm a GM and i wouldn't throw a fit if this happened to me after an extended break over 12 months. :awesome:

  • @thekor I agree with what you are saying, 100%. The guilds we are mainly referring to, I believe, are most likely alt guilds or just plain inactive ones. So they really didn't have a reputation to begin with and with only 1 or 2 members. I'd never want to take a guilds name anyway, as thats not original.
Just want a tidy up of the system is all.
