[KTERA] [Developer's Note] Archer Revamp
Link below but TL;DR
New Skills:
Pursuit - Dash skill covering short distance quickly like Slayer's Headlong Rush
Foresight - Next attack counts as back hit regardless of hitting direction.
Changes:
Rain of Arrows - First hit of this skill determines the hitting direction for rest of the skill. So if first hit hits the back, all other hits will count as back.
Ensnaring Trap - Improved for Mobbing, removed Glyph of Enfeeblement.
Backstep, Breakaway bolt, Pursuit - Direction of movement for these skills are based on directional input instead of being fixed as opposite direction of where camera is facing
Increased base damage for following skill to compensate for loss of Ensnaring trap
Penetrating Arrow about 25%
Radiant Arrow about 25%
Rain of Arrows about 10%
Rapid Fire about 15%
Thunderbolt 100% ?! lol.
Explosion Trap by 20%
Final Salvo - reduced to 1 hit, increasing its base damage correspondingly
Arrow (stack buff) - Rapid Fire grants 1 stack each hit, Final Salvo grants 3 stack on successful hit. Faster charging speed effect applies to all skill instead of just Penetrating Arrow.

ETA: I mean, given how squishy they are, and the sniping required for RF, RA, TB and PA, they should output more than gunner in PVP and similar in PVE.
A benefit to Foresight? Don't have to be directly behind an enemy to hit them with Thunderbolt for the trap sling shot. I'll take it.
Same as gunner roll. Sorc have warp barrier and jaunt already.
You will still need change camera for breakaway bolt
aka "we dont test our stuff, hf with it in PvP"
Cant wait to die half way through Archer's combos now.
I was thinking about final salvo should be 1 bigger hit and they actually di it, GJ!
RF/Final salvo casting speed stacks too all charge skills, damn nice!
Well I don't understand either for my sorc currently if I face like in the above picture and use TP I move forward (forget to put arrow for that) if I use backstep or galical retreat then I will move towards the camera (arrow #3). Now for archer after this patch it would move me either towards #1 (if it works like reaper and ninja but those skills actually move forward) or #2 which both doesn't make sense well #2 does but it's kinda awkward IMO.
Anyway I definitely don't want this for sorc.
Well that's a classic tactic for game developers to get money, nothing only BHS would do
well none of this is true because they are not going to make old classes revamps OP they are just making them be on ninja level, SO THEY DONT HAVE TO NERF NEW CLASSES ENDLESSLY BUT MAKE ALL DPS EVEN SO ALL CLASSES ARE FAIR AND NOT 99% OF THE PEOPLE PLAYING LATEST OP CLASS LIKE NINJA, i have character on k-tera so i know and atm sorc is doing like 10% more than ninja or on some bosses the same depending if it is more stationary boss or not, revamps are there to balance out the dps not make only new class OP, so no there wont be nerfs coming they did excellent job with sorc it is not better then ninja they will bring them all on the same level
I hardly see this as dumbing down the class. Archer was always a fairly straight forward class since it was one of the original, so it will natual be relatively easy to play. They are adding two skills and increasing the base damage so people consider this class instead of being forced to play Ninja and Reaper to get off constant DPS.
But you will think what you want :> I like these changes
But... archers are already one of the top DPS classes in this patch, and easily get off constant DPS (provided the player is good). The problem with the class remains how ping reliant it is, because Rapid Fire is just too good, but its fire rate goes down the drain if not on low ping. The revamp didn't fix that, but they still buffed most of the important skills and gave the class even more mobility, which IMO it didn't need.
And you have it backwards. The newer classes are the straightforward ones. The original ones don't have the same feel, not even remotely. It takes way more effort to be competent with the original classes than with the new ones. The revamps aim to put the classes more in line with the newer ones in terms of feel/ease. So anyone feeling like it's dumbing the class down isn't really wrong if you ask me.
My archer puts out a good amount of DPS so I have no complaints there - Skill and IFrame adjustments sounds like a perfect upgrade.
It will probably move you towards arrow #1. But...do you normally play with your camera to the side like that? The point was that you're able to control which direction 'backstep' goes towards, like evasive roll I guess. I like this version better than the original backstep.
Multidirection evasion should have only been enabled to Breakaway Bolt, enabling it for Backstep and adding a dash skill is a bit overkill.
