As a healer how do you feel about the duo-heal meta?
I was curious how healers feel about the current meta. I've spoken to Priest and Mystics alike that say they hate it, but do it because it's expected of them.
So I was curious what other healers thought about it, care to share your opinions oh divine healer-chan?
EDIT: After reading some of the comments.. Do you think duo heal hinders the growth of new players to the role? As in, do you think it slows down their player skill progress in the class due to always having another healer around?

I think some healers rely too much on the fact there's another healer to clean up after their mistakes (or both are pretty meh and clean up after each other) but when it comes to solo healing sometimes they can't even handle DFNM.
I do see the benefits and it's a norm now to see two healers, but if it's not fun for me I don't see a point
Luckily KTera is making it so it's less favorable, but I would be surprised to see it disappear completely
on the other hand i do feel it has encouraged some sense of... laziness. you don't work as hard when someone else is there picking up any slack, as much as it is a safeguard for runs it can definitely impede your personal skill, let's you get rusty. even worse if you're a new healer and still have to learn the ropes of endgame.
a mixed bag tbh
i won't mind too much when i see it disappear unless in 10 or more man raids, solo heals are more of a norm for me and just more exciting overall.
Let's try to stay on topic. This is more about healers sharing their opinions on the current healer meta.
I get the feeling you haven't even read what was discussed before you made this post. Quite a few people dislike duo heals precisely because it's way too easy to heal.
So lets stay on topic! I'm enjoying reading everyone's opinions on the matter!
When it comes to dungeon preference though I really do prefer to be the only healer. I think that having a second healer is normally not necessary. I wish that double healing was viable but people weren't as hard pressed and adamant about it being the meta for their runs.
I dont think it makes people learn the class slower. Im a new healer, and really dont care if im healing alone or not, and it really doesnt affect my learning of the class, in fact because im new if i [filtered] up i there is another healer to clean after me.
I would rather have a mystic than another priest though, i had enough with sharing Edge with my warrior, now i have to time out energy stars with another healers, pls make it stop.
I believe it's useful provided both healers are experienced, but on normal LFGs/PUGs in IMS, that rarely happens, and often the more experienced/skilled/adaptable healer is left to pick up the slack of the other, usually newer healer. It provides (more) experience for the more skilled healer, but the newer one is left without much growth.
TL;DR is there growth for the role when a new player is dabbling into healing? Yes, but not nearly to the extent that would've been had if the healer had just solo-healed the dungeon. Oftentimes it's either both are skilled or one grows while the other remains stagnant.
I still believe the best way to learn any class to its highest potential though, is to PVP (not CS or Kumas.)
I wish, BHS makes more 6 people dungeons instead of 5. 1 tank, 2 healers, 3 dps.
Duo healing wasn't really meant to be a "safer" route or for learning runs. It's mostly used for faster clears and extra DPS because of stacking debuffs. Duo healing with bad DPS will actually result in longer fights, (if your DPS'ers are bad, then solo healing will be better to make fights shorter).
Soon they will remove stacking debuffs, which was the point of duo healing.
Without stacking debuffs, there's no point. (Except for fun and playing with friends, I guess).
Personally, I like duo heals, it offers more options for different party compositions. You can either solo or duo, both are valid. But soon you won't have the luxury and option, you'll be forced to solo if you want to clear efficiently.
For a long time, you could get priest buffs and run with a mystic for auras, but even that has been patched now. So I'm not sure how well duo will play out in future. My feeling is duo will lose its efficiency, and it'll be better to just solo it. We'll have to wait and see.
