  • Actually, I announced myself as a HW care bear, gave my /location, and waited.

    and waited.

    and waired some more.

No one came to kill me.

    It was very dissappointing. :(

months ago, I started a thread and lots of HW players which were hardcore, a bit or a lot, asked for merge, we are getting it, most of those people are happy now, and will be happy that those cry babies which was really making HW worse server of the game, leave FF.

ye leave and after in 6 months complaints than fey forest is empty B)

farewell our fun is in ascension valley, more active server than fey forest B)
  • what was the reason for sticking all my toons on a pvp server for? then take my stuff away to move back to the pve server that I was on to begin with?
  • Because you won't even notice you're on a PvP server, and this way we have a server with it's own identity as opposed to "that other PvE/P server".

i notice it when i see red people in velika
  • Fine, you notice it, but it isn't effecting you.
  • I already submitted a ticket for this but wondering if anyone else with 16 characters total and having max 16 slots per server can't log into new server. Says you have to delete 8 to log in. Not doing it. I've been elite and founder status practically forever and already deleted enough to keep the max combine to 16 on the new server. All the information on the merges says you get 16 slots if you have 16 slots. Its a bug and needs to be fixed.

when you see red people you know they can block you in velika with their bodies
  • There's a couple of things that didn't make sense while the merge discussion was ongoing and they still don't make any sense to me.

    1. It seems ludicrous that they'd issue a FAQ that states "We hope that players will give the new server a chance ... there will be a free transfer period from the new server to Ascension Valley (PVE) from September 9 to 13". Those words should never occur in the same paragraph - it's like they were written by different people on different continents in different languages then merged while Google Translate was having a bad day.

How can anybody make a reasoned decision with only one weekend in the free transfer period? Obviously they can't so anyone considering a transfer will simply do it. They pretty much guaranteed that result.

    2. Why even bother with "level 65 only"? The difference between a freshly minted 65 and a geared-up, PVP configured 65 is probably greater than the difference between a generic level 65 and a generic level 55. 'Level 65 only" vs "PVP" is a distinction without a difference.

    3. There's conflicting info on whether IoD will be open world or non-PVP. That much I suppose can be sussed out in the time allowed. But it seems readily apparent that open world gathering with an ungeared 65 is off the agenda.

Hence the only choice I see for myself is transferring and repurchasing everything beyond the rudimentary stuff or simply giving up the game as a bad job. Right now I'm leaning toward the latter. Everybody has equally valid opinions on PVP - my opinion could not be reasonably considered to be flattering.

    1. We make this decision way before the merge whether we want to go or not.

    2. So that newbies don't get their faces murdered off

    3. You can go there yourself and see that it is a safe zone with many gathering nodes.
  • I have my toons running around to do the gathering / mobbing vg. And i don't see anyone running around trying to kill me.

I don't particularly like pvp myself. But i welcome the occasional fights if they have to happen

This hasn't happened to me either.

For this one, it's because the amount of open world non-safe-zone areas that level 65 characters have to go to is basically none (IoD is entirely a safe zone, as are all cities, towns, and dungeon teleportals), whereas it's the opposite for leveling characters, since story quests take them out into the open world. The story quests also follow a known/fixed pattern, so it's easy for people to know where they're likely to find others, whereas Vanguard quests at 65 have more variability, even besides the Island of Dawn safezone. So in terms of the practical likelihood of encountering unwanted PvP, it's a big difference. I guess that this just isn't obvious enough unless you understand how all the mechanics work (and most people on PvE servers don't understand those mechanics, since they've preferred to avoid them entirely).

Hi guys. I'm fairly new. I only have made two characters so the server merge isn't affecting me in any way (yet?). However I'm contemplating if I should stay on FF or start moving to AV. I logged on my main on FF and yes it's lively on global. I've also made a new character on AV just to see how it's like there and I see mostly trade and very little to almost none global chat or LFG all the while I was online. I'm more concerned about the end game. I wouldn't want to be in a server where it gets difficult to look for raid / dungeon parties in a day. FF feels more laggy too compared to AV.

if it is at 3 am, you would not see people in av ;)
